Pacali Pack

Pacali is a pack built on the acceptance of wolves and creatures the majority of the world scorns or rejects. Whether a handicap or something as simple as a quirk, Pacali welcomes those who can't find their place in life with open arms. It functions on the basis that all can learn how to view their ‘weaknesses’ as strengths, building them into a fully functioning member of Pacali society and family. The leading members are at the forefront of this new form of teaching, having worked hard together and proved every doubtful heart wrong. Being odd doesn't mean weakness, it simply opens the door to a new way of thinking.

Being a neutral sanctuary, Pacali is open to those light of heart and those with darker minds. How is it possible to maintain peace amongst this hodge podge of rebels, tricksters and outcasts? Mutual respect. It is essential to every creature seeking Pacali’s protection. Working together for the greater purpose and survival of the pack. The benefit of the many before the benefit of personal intentions.

While not being a overly religious or spiritual pack, it is accepting of the beliefs those who call it ‘Home’. The four founding members initiated their own festivals to celebrate both their accomplishments, quirks and beliefs but also as a reminder. As time drags on and the inevitable takes place where these four wolves, the ones who broke through so many social shackles, will no longer take in breath, they will leave these festivals as a reminder to those who follow them.

F E S T I V A L S

Aite: The Festival of Mischief that was instituted by the first siblings who reign as Alphas, Vashti and Vidarii. This festival takes place on the first day of spring, when young and old alike can celebrate the fun loving side of themselves with jokes, pranks and fun of all kinds.

Nekros: A festival close to Iason and Maikoa’s hearts. A darker celebration to remember those who have passed on, a reminder to all how fragile life is. Fragments of a hunt or plants will be left in the center of the pack lands as offerings for the spirits. While a day of remembrance for some, it's a day of darker experiments for others. Those who have an interest in poisons and the like will have a chance to show off their talents.

Actaeon: Evangeline instituted the first day of summer to be one of joy , especially for pups and youth. This day offers the chance for ambitious little rascals to get a taste of the duties certain ranks have to offer such as hunting, sparring, and gathering. Select Elders will oversee specific groups of youngsters to observe and perhaps offer advice or critiques should there be a need. The goal of this festival is to help the younger generation to see which duty appeals to them before having to make an official choice of rank when they become of age.

F A M I L Y // L I F E

Breeding is a freedom extended to all members of Pacali except the Epimetheus.

Mating is expected to be between one male and one female. Harems are not allowed. Both parents are expected to have a full share in the raising of the pups, especially when they are first born. Once the pups have grown enough to allow the parents to resume their duties within the pack, the Leto shall share in the young ones upbringing.

Pups are a valued treasure. While oddities are accepted, even celebrated, it is left to the discretion of the parents if a pup is deemed worthy of life at birth. The Shaman, having a knowledge of healing as well as poison, may be called to do away with an unfortunate pup in a discreet and quick manner. However there is a limited window of time to make a decision if the pup shall live or die. This decision can be made by the parents until sunset of the day of birth, if no decision is made the pup will be awarded life by the Alphas and will be treated with as much care and devotion as any other babe.

After weeks of living nomadically, without a true place to call home, the pair of siblings stumbled upon Xisyn. They believed there was more to the land than its outwardly desolate pretense. They deemed it a desirable choice for the homeland of a band of misfits, and so the idea of Pacali was born. Nonetheless, a pack could not be constructed without other wolves to participate, and these wolves did come. There was first Evangeline, a crippled female who was rightly cautious at first but found the odd pair of wolves uniquely fascinating. Maikoa, a mysterious poisoner who had just come from the sea, came next. She was skeptical of the idea at first, but warmed up to it as she became cognizant of the benefits that a pack of oddballs could bring. The third to arrive was an unparalleled creature, an albino mute by the name of Iason who felt he had no other purpose in life, and that a pack may provide him with the will to live.

What came next could not have been anticipated by any of the mismatched wolves who had gathered; Vasyl, brother of Vidarii and Vashti, presented himself. Unknown to the pair who had previously thought him to be deceased, he had survived their lethal prank with only the debt of a foreleg. He remained bitter still, yet he knew that his new-found disability called for the support of a pack.

All of these creatures only had one thing in common, and this was that they felt out of place wherever they landed. But the mere possibility of a group of misfits banded together created an idealistic place where they would finally feel as if they had a home and a family where they belonged. And so came the official founding of Pacali.
