History:
Born to a primitive pack on the continent, of Africa, Tallyn grew up in the role of the submissive female. Her parents’ bloodline had long been linked to the pack so they too were used to the hierarchy of males and females.
Her father was the Alpha so she was always placed in the spotlight; the pressure to be the example of the perfect female was always present, even during her years as a pup. She grew up under this heavy influence which molded her tendency to submit to powerful males due to the intensity of her father’s expectations and his expressions. Through reading his facial expressions she could tell whether she was in trouble or when to keep quiet. She began to stay quiet around the elders (all males) or during meetings with high ranking fighters. Thus, because of her father she became submissive to power but she also learned how to read faces and body language, a skill that comes in handy from time to time. Tallyn’s brother was a typical alpha male who followed in the footsteps of his father very well. He also contributed in a way to the submissive nature of his little sister. Aside from using her to fetch things, she didn’t amount to much in his mind. And to her, it was her natural role in life.
Her mother on the other hand held an interesting past close to her heart. Celia had come from a much more modern pack where the gender roles were not so clearly defined. She retained those beliefs even after she moved to Nyx’s father’s pack. She did love him, but that was it. She left her pack for him and not for his pack. Still, to be able to stay with the love of her life, she had to change her beliefs, or at least pretend like she did. Celia was an intelligent wolf. She raised her little she-wolf to fit in, but still encouraged a little independence in the situations where it was needed; there was no way one of her girls was going to meet a stranger and be outright submissive without putting up at least a small fight.
It was on her second birthday that the trouble started. Two years old was the mating age in her pack. A little young many felt, but that was tradition and no one was brave enough to challenge it. Yet there were a few perverted males that relished in the role of dominance. As the daughter of the alpha, Tallyn was expected to pick a mate to continue the blood line. She however, didn’t want that. Tired of waiting around, some males took it upon themselves to corner her in one day and while she was out. They almost got what they wanted, but thankfully Celia was around to protect her. Seeing the trouble her daughter was in and recognizing the she-wolf’s feelings, she did what any mother would do and helped her daughter out.
Around midnight during a New Moon, Celia helped her daughter escape the pack. While preparing her for the departure, Celia told her daughter about the Southern Isles, an archipelago home to many wolves where she might be able to live. The last thing that Tallyn saw was the tears in her mother’s eyes as she left her old pack behind forever.
Tallyn followed her mother’s instructions and reached the Isles; swimming across the expanse of water that separates the two land masses. There she lives as a loner.
Personality: Due to her upbringing, Tallyn is very submissive in front of wolves with power. Despite this tendency of submission, she still has a wild streakthat she uses when defending herself. Don’t let her weakness fool you, if she senses danger to herself or others she cares about she will fight and is quite adept at it too. Though her old pack didn’t allow females to fight, her mother would take her aside and teach her the basic skills of survival. She relies on a strong offence to initially wound the opponent, making it initially easier to win. Her defense isn’t as strong, but her speed makes up for what she lacks. She is not afraid to back down in a situation where she knows that she can’t win. She can fend for herself well enough, but still needs help or will blatantly let another wolf get the larger prey. Another big aspect of Tallyn’s personality is that she can read faces very well. Sure, she is a little shaky during the first time, but as she gets to know someone she can pick out minute difference that help her deal with whatever mood that person is in; it’s a lot easier to know beforehand if a wolf wants to rip her throat out before it’s too late.
