History:
The start to Persephone's life was quite a bit different than most that called Anikira their home, though not too dissimilar from domesticated dogs. She was not born on Anikira, but would soon in her short life call it home. Scientists had a cause, and that cause was to save the life of Anikira as they knew it, and in doing so, they brought them to their claim on the Southern Isles. Humans tended to always have companions in one form or another, and one human in particular had one of dog form.
Persephone was a curious little pup, always waddling away from the human that wasn't always there to keep her entertained. They could not really explain why the little pup was born with pink eyes. They thought perhaps that because the mother had been a rescue from an inhumane experimenting lab, perhaps all those experiments had done something. Regardless, Persephone was adored. To no fault of their own did they leave the dogs for so long, for all that they were doing was to save the Anikiran wolves, though Persephone did not really understand it. All she heard was noise. It was a day of bustling and loud noises when Persephone grew tired of all the noise. Her mother lay inside neatly with Persephone's other siblings, singing them to sleep so that they would not wander. Her mother did not count on Persephone's curious and easily distracted nature that day.
The door of the truck had been left ajar, and that had sparkled in Persephone's eyes. The sound of her mothers singing was drowning out the further and further she got to the gap in the door until it was but a whisper in the air as Persephone slipped through the gap and tumbled down towards the earth. Had Persephone been more aware of her surroundings, she would have heard her mothers shouts for her. Had Persephone used her eyes, she would have seen her mothers face and paws against the glass windows of the truck doors. Had she just turned for that split second, Persephone would have seen the tears trail from her mothers eyes as the truck started and began to drive away, as the first lot of naturalists made their way back to exits: boats and planes.
Ignorant to the world around her, Persephone wandered. She laughed and she chased critters that flew in the sky, until the day took a turn. Lost would soon be exchanged for taken. The little pup came face to face with wolves that loomed over her, and had she just stayed in the truck, Persephone would have not been a chosen one. These wolves had a plot, and they were going through with it. Take anyone, as long as they were female.
Abducted, Persephone found herself without choice. The Anikiran wolves - as to what her mother and the human had called them - had whisked her up. Large and looming, far larger than her mother had been, the wolves were not creatures Persephone could pluck herself from. A new life waited for her on Anikira, the place she would call home with the wolves that had taken her.
With her new life, came a new name; one that started from affection. Duchess. Eventually, the Pack she would call family would know her by that name. Only those of 'family' and Kairos would know her as Duchess. To the rest of the world, the strangers, she would be Persephone. They were her family now, and what family didn't have little nicknames?

Personality:
There is not much difference between Persephone's personality and her appearance. She looks sweet, tender, innocent - and she is.
Tender and sweet to all, Persephone is quite passive. It would have to be something extreme for Persephone to turn nasty to anyone, or to intentionally cause someone harm of any kind. She prefers to be exploring and seeing pretty things, as opposed to snarling and jumping down someones throat. Persephone sees no point in unneeded violence, and tries to steer clear of it, if she can.
She appears to just constantly be on the go, to be playful and easy going. Persephone doesn't have much time to just sit about and dilly dally, for there's too much to see and too much to do. New flowers to see, new water to swim in, new creatures to chase - everything is just one giant fantasty to the little pup. If there is one thing that seems to ooze from Persephone, (affectionately dubbed Duchess) it is naivety. For this reason alone, Persephone can be easily swayed and manipulated.
Her lack of judgement and blindly trusting nature can get her easily into dire situations or trouble. She sees the good in everyone and quite doubts that anyone is just purely evil. Though this is not to say she is just a follow, but in her youth, she will easily be led astray. Especially since Anikira will be foreign and new to her, Persephone will not understand that not everyone has pure intentions. Though with how naive and innocent she is, this can be quite dangerous
for herself and those around her. Trouble seems to follow the naive, and
Persephone is plentiful of that aspect.
The way she carries herself even as a pup seems to be like a dream, where everything is just dandy and ethereal. She craves happiness in the world, for it to be spread between everyone so that not a frown can be seen. Her intentions are usually always sincere, for there's a severe lack of bad bones in her body. Optimistic and inspiring, Persephone tends to shine a light in others lives. She has a knack for inspiring others to default to the good, especially those that are quite apathetic.
She does not realise it, but she is quite dependant on others keeping her alive in her youth. A habit of ignoring the reality, therefore living in her own sense of fantasy, retaining that ideal. It is all quite the game to her, though her tongue can be sassy and quick, often though without a malicious intent. Playful and good-natured, Persephone floats in midst of darkness.
That is not to say that Persephone is without those niggling little insecurities. For she is quite possessive and protective of those closest to hers, but in the most childish way. That will perhaps manifest as she grows, into a more adult-like possessiveness, but for now, Persephone holds the childish torch.
