History: Fel was born to a loving mother on Anikira and had one other sibling. A brother named Fenrir, two shadows each with their slight differences. His mother doted on the both of them despite the rigidity of pack life in some ways they were isolated from it by their mother's loving touch and her propensity to take care of them and show them unconditional affection. Fel loved his mother insofar that he knew that he needed her but he also knew that she did not occupy the highest place in the pack, and he wanted that future for himself. He did not want to be on the fringes of his pack, forced to eat last and try and supplement his diet, he wanted to be strong and healthy. So when his mother was murdered he stayed with his pack and trained. He learned how to kill, how to torture, how to laugh while doing it, he learned how to heal wolves quickly enough to put them back on the battlefield, and even at that young age there was enough talk of bedding females that he learned, second hand anyway, about that as well. Fel felt very little attachment to his comrades and his brother at this time had gone missing. For Fel he had begun to investigate and learn more about his commander and the alpha of the pack. And in this way he found his brother again.
The brute that had killed their mother was the exact same wolf who was alpha of the pack. The exact circumstances of that instance didn't matter to Fel, in fact he had little desire to jeopardize his potential future in the pack to stand up to the alpha in order to defend a wolf who he saw as dead to him and dead to the world. It would be better to simply move on, and he had. If his brother did his dirty work and Fel got a little satisfaction off of seeing the wolf who had caused him such grief during training suffer then it was no skin off of his nose. When Fel realized that his brother would be injured but that Fenrir had won his goals had to change. No longer was the pack the source of stability that it once was, the ascension of a new alpha in the previously almost fascist pack would be a messy affair. And his brother was someone who he could at least in some way depend upon. If he had to stake his survival off of a situation with his pack, to which he had no real allegiances simply a desire for security, or his brother then the better option to him at the time was Fenrir. Before the pack could catch up and realize what had been done to their leader Fel utilized some of his battlefield healing in order to allow Fenrir to escape and then fled with him. He never looked back on his decision to leave his pack and it is one that doesn't particularly matter to him. Whether he is persecuted or not he made the best decision for himself.
Personality:
The first thing to note is that Fel isn't ambitious in the traditional sense, he views his place in the pack and his struggle for supremacy as survival. Wolves who say that one can truly live don't understand that the time when your nerves are singing the most is in a death struggle, and are most likely naive and easily molded by torture and pain. To Fel weakness is death and death is a weakness, those who are weak and aren't dead either deserve to die or exist to serve those who are strong. There is nothing inherently wrong about killing a wolf who is weak, torturing them, or using them strictly for your own gain. (The instances in which it would be wrong is if that wolf belongs to another, or RARELY if that wolf is a pup, however even pups are not exempt from the laws of survival so MOST of the time killing or torturing them are fine.)
Fel's version of love is actually somewhat protective and some may even consider him one of the sweetest members of Elysium simply because he believes that love is real, those who think that don't understand how he understands love. Those who love each other love each other because the other wolf is strong and the survival of each depends upon each other. There is no love for wolves who are weak, at most there is a carnal desire to own, but never love. He views love as a survival mechanism, it can never supercede one's own desire to live (unless you are weak) and is thus fickle, love that does exist is fleeting and you choose your loved ones with care but also based upon what makes sense for you to continue living. Fel loves his brother, but he doesn't believe that he would sacrifice himself for his brother. His love for his brother doesn't mean he wouldn't torture, harm, or manipulate his brother it just means that he has acknowledged that his brother helps him survive just as he helps his brother so any wolf trying to trump that will need to offer something better in return. In that way those who Fel loves are shielded from some of his darker tendencies.
One thing to note about him is that he truly believes that death is the end, there is no life after death a chance at redemption or reincarnation. To that end he realizes that when he kills something he is ending its survival and it has no chances after that death, death is destruction. That also means that should he grow to fear death insofar that he fears death more than he wants to survive he would fear his ultimate end with no chance for reconciliation.
He views torture and any kind of oppression through the lens of testing who is weak and who is strong but also enforcing those boundaries and your own strength. Strength and survival is a constant struggle and not something that can be resolved only once. He sees himself as a survivor, any acts of evil that he does are simply tied to that survival and intrinsic within the system of weak and strong. Only the weak would dislike this system and only the strong are capable of running it in his eyes.
Fel is quiet and reserved but also witty and sarcastic, much less prone to speaking out his own mind unless it's an insult and more likely to lurk in the background waiting for trouble. Overall he is a fairly confident wolf and doesn't have a lot of tolerance for antics, even as a pup he is serious, more so than others and seems to have a decent grasp of the world and how it functions (if you take into account his world view). He does have a mask but it functions less as a protective barrier and more as someone he wishes he was. While naturally silent, and he sees this as an advantage in some areas, in some ways he does wish to be his definition of a 'good' brute. Loud, overbearing, and dominant who doesn't ever hold his tongue and is the kind that will ridiculously flirt with those he desires and keep harems, one who doesn't hid in the shadows. He is caught between idolizing this behavior and also holding it in contempt for the over-exuberance and ease in which these males try to collect wolves around them.
In reality he is quiet, would much rather observe, does not follow any sort of moral compass, and chooses his associations very carefully. To say that he chooses them carefully doesn’t mean he cares for them, instead it means he is very selective about who he has the time of day for – not just because of how he views love but also because it’s a waste of time otherwise and spending too much time with weak wolves sends a message. He doesn’t have much of a moral compass. To those he lets into his life most he could turn on in an instant, but he is capable of forming real and deep attachment to other wolves (his brother mostly and later on probably Mara)
He will help wolves if they give him something in return or he believes that that help will help him manipulate them in the future. Help given to him is either out of love because survival is tied or the benefit of another wolf. While he believes that other should repay their debts to him if a weaker wolf helps him then he is much more inclined viewing it as a personal debt, one tied to their survival if he views it as anything he needs to repay at all. He doesn’t believe that he necessarily deserves help in the world or someone to avenge or look after him, and if he fails it is because he isn’t strong and deserves to die although to him if he is alive it means there is still a chance to prove his strength by not only not dying but doing it on his own four paws. Wolves who are generally nice don't confuse him but rather irritate him because they are naive and because he sees their happiness as surface level, these wolves are weak and are easily turned, twisted, and manipulated.
He is motivated by revenge insofar as it is either easy to achieve so doesn’t take too much of his time and serves to increase the bond between him and another wolf who is useful to him, or he can gain something by going after the other wolf from that wolf.
For such a violent wolf that he is he doesn’t really have the short temper that other wolves do, if another wolf taunts him he will let the matter lie unless it is symbolic of a larger offense (i.e. a slave disrespecting him isn’t a normal wolf just being a moronic piece of shit, it’s a slave not acknowledging its place). He may be in what you would call perpetual battle calm. This serves as making him APPEAR weaker in some cases but also means he isn’t baited as easily. Fel does have emotions, and he views their place in his life more as guidance as to his own intuition, but also a kind of warning bell for if he's being manipulated or not. How he is supposed to feel around other wolves and what they want him to feel is how he senses manipulation, foreboding before going into an unknown terrain should be considered as there may be a reason. He trusts his instincts, but not as much as he trusts himself.
