Summer has finally arrived! The sun has melted the snows in the north and the southern territories are beginning to grow uncomfortably hot and dry. Pups are being born and life seems to finally be getting back to normal after the cure for the disease was found. But how long will it last?
The cure has been found! Wolves on Anikira are recovering from the disease and life is moving forward with the promise of pups in many packs. And yet darkness looms on the horizon, daring the creatures of Anikira to relax and allow themselves to get comfortable once more.
Dainty paws carried her across the ground, finding the beaches sands. This was outside of Valyn's lands, but it was close enough for her to be allowed to explore without too much fear. She had been living with so much o it lately and she was determined to be rid of it. The unspeakable things that had happened to her would not be allowed to rule over her life. Instead she was determined to put it past her. She wanted to see everything through the innocent gaze that she once did. Picking up her pace she found herself loping across the ground, eager to outrun those black nightmares. Alina had always been a dainty creature, but beneath the sweet exterior she was determined to find strength. Everyone around her was strong and so powerful and she was determined to be the same. After all how could she ever be useful to her pack mates if she was unable to rise above.
Saphira and Valeria and Quail had all been so kind to her and she would not fail them by falling into the pits of despair. She could feel the burn of fatigue in her lungs but still she didn't stop. She was not strong in a physical sense but she was fast, running was like second nature to her and she was able to cover long distances on her dainty little feet. Alina was determined to use her skills to her advantage and allow herself to become stronger because of them. Though fast she was not the most coordinated and a rock jutting out of the sand caught her foot. Yelping she pushed forward, toppling to the ground. Rolling over herself collapsed in the sand, a hushed whine escaping her lungs. Trying to right herself she put pressure on her foot, letting out a surprised yelp. It hurt badly enough to keep her settled on the ground. Hopefully in a few moments the sting would die down. If not she would be stranded here if no one else thought to come and find her. The idea of being out here alone frightened her, but she was determined not to let herself become overwhelmed.
Panicking would not help her out right now. Besides she was alone on this beach for now and she could enjoy the solitude for at least a little longer. She had wanted to explore so perhaps this was fate.
Kratos could safely say he had experienced the pain his mother had, now. Octavia had shown her face and given him a semblance of joy, seeing her precious face again after her and her sister had been gone. Those pups were as good as his own, though no blood shared, he was their father and it would always be that way. His little warrior had gone once again, and Kratos felt a pain in his chest. Kratos still ventured to Valeria, keeping her company just as much as she kept him company, he could not break with her - she was a strong wolf, but even she needed to be lifted occassionaly, and that's what Kratos would do.
He would be Valeria's strength whilst she healed her own.
Octavia was gone again, and Kratos felt an emptiness crawl across the expanse of his chest as his large paws pressed silently against the sand. He could not show his face to Saphira or anyone else of Valyn currently, he was the image of strength and he was determined to be the helper of the sisters whilst they went through this rough patch - he could not let them see his own inner struggle. So Kratos went across the border to where the sand covered the ground, to give himself some time alone before he shouldered his sadness and put his game face back on.
Silver eyes watched the shoreline as his tongue slithered across his elongated teeth, but it was when a sharp yelp sounded across the beach that Kratos lifted his head and stood tall. Ordinarly, he would have seen the creature before he heard them, but he had admittedly been preoccupied - a rare occurance, but it had happened and he felt a twinge of annoyance that he had let it happen. Kratos' silver eyes caught sight of a wolf upon the ground in a disheveled manner, and he lifted his head with a curious flicker through his eyes.
He slunk forward on large paws, tail lashing lowly behind him as he grew closer towards the laying wolf, Valyn hit him in the face when he got close enough to scent the wolf outside of the salt of the sea and other creatures that lingered upon the beach. She was quite small, though Kratos knew not to hold that against her - it was him that was overly large. Delicate looking, with blue eyes, though she seemed to hold her paw differently than the rest.
"That was much more graceful than anything I'd have done," Kratos rumbled, his voice smokey and deep as it tumbled from his mouth as he came to a stop near the she wolf. He didn't wish to scare her, for he knew his size and the brutal claw like markings across face were not the most inviting, but he held no malice upon his features. Despite everything, Kratos did enjoy conversation and making friends, even if he was a killer. A defender, a Warrior - but still a wolf. The dire tilted his head slightly as he peered at her, "you hurt? can't imagine that was a comfortable tumble," the male commented, giving the opportunity to the blue eyed wolf to decide whether she wanted to respond to him or not.

It was not dark and Quail was in a dark mood because of it. He normally slept during this time of day so he could be out when the moon shone and the shadows cloaked him but he needed to see her. He had left without speaking to her, which he realized now was insurmountably foolish and cruel. He should have explained why he needed to go and assure her of his return. He would always return. Despite his sour mood as regards of the sunlight beating down on him, he was eager to see her face.
Quail's dark steps padded in silence as he neared where he hoped she would be. Alina had spoken of this place before, she had family here if he was not mistaken, or maybe they were just friends. Either way, Valyn was important to her and he had figured this would be the best place to find her.
A yelp shot through the air and seemed to pierce directly into his heart. The cold, shriveled thing that it was except in regards to her ached at the sound. He knew the voice of his angel better than his own it seemed to him and his step quickened.
But he arrived too late to help her. Alina had a knack for getting into trouble and he was the one to get her own. But as soon as his aqua eyes rested upon the form of another male appearing to aide her, his heart burned and his anger flashed like lightning across a stormy sky. How dare this creature even touch her perfection!
Still, even in his rage at the lad, Quail felt a guilt like any other he felt before. He had caused this to happen, he left her side and she was too beautiful, pure and perfect not to attract the attentions of another suitor. But how he hated the thought of her turning away from him, her Ghost.
His feet stayed rooted to the ground even as he felt the tug of his heart pulling him towards her. He was supposed to protect her. No one else. Melancholy thoughts raced through his mind even as he hung in the shadows as best he could, he wanted to sing his agony at being forgotten but his lips remained sealed. He could only watch, as he did at first, and make her she was safe from afar....for now.
OOC: Very over dramatic I know XD Ghost is here for drama and angst though. AlinaKratos
Alina nursed her paw, cradling it delicately to her chest. The sting was already disappearing and she would soon be back to normal. Of course the beach was a nice enough place to relax until it was all better. Despite her best effort hot tears welled up in her eyes. Her lips quivered a little bit and she help back the urge to cry. She really was pitiful. Taking a deep breath she fought the tears and tried to rid herself of this feeling of sham and uselessness. Valyn didn't need her, it was why they had left her to die on the isles. She had been lost and alone and the only one who saved her from her attack was her Ghost. He had never told her his name, but he had made sure she was safe and left her before she could find out who he was. Of course now she wondered if it was all just a dream.
Her reverie was interrupted by the approach of another, their gargantuan paws making quite the entrance. Alina turned her head to see a massive giant of a male, potentially the largest she had ever seen. Her eyes widened and for a moment she felt panic until she smelt the Valyn scent. Her heart practically exploded in relief and she gave an exuberant smile, her little bum wiggling on the ground. Despite her injury she was excited to see a fellow pack mate, even if he was the scariest looking thing that she ever seen in her life. "Hello! Are you from Valyn? You smell like Valyn. I am from valyn too. I haven't met you though. I am friends with Saphira." Despite being past her youth in age she was always stuck in the stage of timeless innocence. Despite everything that happened to her she was still so full of joy and happiness. Standing up she put pressure on her paw, relieved that it was not too painful, so long as she didn't put too much weight on it. "It doesn't hurt so bad, good thing I am little, so there isn't weight on my little foot." Giving a dainty giggle she perked her ears back, being her normal sweet self.
She got sidetracked by a familiar scent though and she turned her gaze to the horizon, looking for some trace of her Ghost. Had she really imagined it or was he really out there somewhere. Whining gently she turned left and right, still unable to see anything or anyone. "Did you smell that, mister?"
The she wolf cradled her paw to her chest as she nursed it from whatever had caused it pain, and Kratos, try as he might, could not walk away. He was one that thought inner strength would come out, but then, he was also a protector. Kratos protected and fought for those that could not do it themselves, and this little wolf seemingly was of gentle nature. Injured, too, judging by the paw. He craned his head down towards her so that he did not loom too much over the laying wolf, but seemingly happiness was bursting from her then as her words soon followed.
Kratos' silver eyes watched as the excitement of a pup flowed from her, and perhaps she was even more gentle and innocent than he had priorly thought. He nodded then at her words, "you ain't wrong," Kratos commented, "Kratos, pleasure to meet you little lady." The gargantuan wolf's ears flicked minutely upon hearing she was friends with Saphira, though he found that it did not surprise him. Saphira was a bubbly, warm wolf, much like the one that lay before him. He could see how they would get on.
Suddenly, he was acutely aware that something was watching them. His nose flared as he pulled in the wind and scents, one that did not belong to him nor the bubbly she wolf. Kratos resisted the snarl of protectiveness that longed to bubble through his throat, and instead focused on the wolf's words; but he did not remain oblivious to the intruding figure. "Bein' small does have it's perks," he mused to the she wolf, his shoulders rolling as he prepared himself should she fall again. It was when she commented upon the scent that Kratos lifted his gigantic skull and he nodded his head. Kratos silver eyes locked upon the figure of another wolf, and his tongue slithered out from his mouth and across his elongated teeth.
"It's no Valyn wolf," his voice was a rumble now, as his protective Warrior blood surged through his veins. Stepping forward, he cast his body infront of the sweet she wolf as he took a protective stance. "You're a bit far from home, aren't you?" Kratos called to the lingering, watchful creature, and his silver eyes flashed like lightning. He was not Valyn, though he was a scent he could not quite decipher. Regardless, Kratos had no time to be nice to intruders, not when he had the sweet little wolf behind him, and the Pack to protect. The gargantuan beast stepped forward, "you'll have me come to you? I don't think you'll want that," he drawled with ease, eyes calculating the situation. Kratos was no virgin to battle, he was a fighter, a killer, and he would fight this intruder should the need arise.
He often tried to reason with voice first, for violence was not always the best way to resolve things. However, Kratos did not shy away from violence should it become a necessity.

His angel sensed him. Precious Alina. So perfect and beautiful. She was close yet he could not think to touch her without crossing the brute who dare look upon her perfection. He watched in agony as her eyes looked for him but his darkness would cloud her vision, at least for now. The large behemoth dared put himself between them and speak to the air like he was her rightful guardian. Yes, Quail had failed but he still took her safety seriously. Despite his faults, Alina was his priority.
Ignoring the baiting tone in the strangers words, Quail weighed his options. He carried the same scent as her. Ties of pack were strong and he could not try to harm him without breaking a few rules. Rules that meant he may never be allowed to rest his gaze upon her again.
Taking a deep breath, Quail broke a standard of his....Speaking out. "You stand between me and my home." Pack mattered not. Alina was his home. This wolf could very well beat him in a fight but Quail would fight if it came to that if it meant he could be by her for a fraction of a second. Perhaps Alina would not care to be so openly staked as possession of his but this character needed to know exactly where he stood.
His eyes looked back to his lady, pleading her to forgive him from afar. He left her, she was hurt and he was not around to help her. Now he was. He had to deal with his demons and not allow himself to be drug from her side. It happened too many times already. He had to stay. For her.
But time slowed for him as he waited for a reaction...from either one. Would Alina send him away? It broke his twisted heart to even think of it but he knew he deserved it if it was what she wished. This joker who thought himself her shield now would still not be rid of him though. Quail was caught between a rock and a hard place, the only solution lay at his angel's feet.

Jaidah is one of the albinos on the site, a brand new character brought to life by a brand new player. It is interesting to see how such a pure looking being could be wrapped up in the angsty claws that is Irkalla! We will definitely be staying in-tune with this character to see just what heights Bird is able to take her!
