Summer has finally arrived! The sun has melted the snows in the north and the southern territories are beginning to grow uncomfortably hot and dry. Pups are being born and life seems to finally be getting back to normal after the cure for the disease was found. But how long will it last?
The cure has been found! Wolves on Anikira are recovering from the disease and life is moving forward with the promise of pups in many packs. And yet darkness looms on the horizon, daring the creatures of Anikira to relax and allow themselves to get comfortable once more.
He sucked at social activities, that was no secret. He was technically in a pack but never saw them because he could hardly bring himself to step out of the shadows and present himself to them on any regular occasion. Frankly, he doubted any of Vasilios knew his name or face on sight. It was his own doing of course. He became so enraptured with Alina, then he took leave and now he was back to find she was drawing attention from others. His jealousy burned but he battled with letting her go to be happy. She was a creature of the sun while he was fully a child of the night. Perhaps they were doomed from the beginning to fail, still his actions left much to be desired in the way of Protector and Guard. He must double his efforts. Triple them, even. Alina must see his devotion to her then she will return to him. She had to.
Pale eyes contrasted sharply with the dark fur of his face apart from the whitish streaks along his jawline and over his brow, was it striking in a good way? He did not know nor did he care. Really, he gave very little thought to his appearance since his whole world was darkness where such details were minute and useless.
Melancholy. His constant companion which endlessly irked him. The light of his life was fading as he so negatively dwelt on his losing her. It was not healthy, but he had no motivation to pluck himself up again and look on the so called 'brighter side'
He was a lonely fellow. Born to a family he had not seen in years. No childhood friends or mentors. Solitude was his legacy. Darkness was his mother and the moon was his sibling. It only made him wish for the afterlife more so, when he could finally become the ghost he so desired to be.
OOC: He is in a dark place. Come one and all either to try and perk him up or take him on. Anything can work.
A near constant tick in the back of his head, brows furrowed into a scowl. This was no one's fault but his own. He had gotten himself lost, but thankfully he wasn't out as far as he thought. He would return to Aveline eventually. Once the embarrassment settled and he could face his pack once more. He had stormed off due to stress. The Isles, the long journey, being pressed shoulder to shoulder with wolves he never cared to encounter in his life. Crossing the tunnel under the ocean, the absurdity of it all. He was glad his pack had made it back, safely. They had suffered a fire and now reclaiming what was rightfully their's. He had faith in his alpha, pledging his fealty without a second thought.
It surprised him how quickly he settled into the pack. Nimue was a kind, strong soul. He had no problems following her commands. The others were an easy bunch to deal with. Though he had a few thorns in the garden I'd Aveline. He had risen from a warrior with time, still doing grunt work when necessary. Now his soul responsibility was the peace within his pack. He reflected on his life, coming from a rather cruel beginning, fleeing judgement and anger. He prayed his mother faired well, though he may never see her again. He had met many a wolf in his time in Anikira, built friendships and rivalries. Namely two spitfires from different walks of life. He smirked at the memories as he traipsed the shores. The day was wearing on and soon night would be upon them. The sun descending as the chill set in. Autumn was upon them and soon Winter would relieve it.
As he moved, the masked brute couldn't shake the feeling that he wasn't alone. It was ridiculous as this was a large land and many pass through it, daily. But at this very moment, he could sense something or someone nearby. Curious evergreen eyes peered through the dimming light, wondering just who was around. A social creature by nature, he seemed to take comfort in not being alone with his own thoughts. He noted the dark fur in the shaded areas. He raised his maw to scent the air, finding he did not recognize the scent. They were either a loner or from a pack he never encountered. His first instinct was to tense in preparation of a threat, however he found curiosity won over. He still remained prepared as a precaution. He tread closer to the figure, head tilted and ears half laid back.
"You know lurking isn't very polite. Is everything alright?" Maxim called, his voice lacking the usual gruff tone. His tone was even and curious, lacking any bite or venom. A neutral expression and inflection, offering peace in contrast to the frustration he felt. It had been so quiet to him, only the sound of the ocean kept him company. That was until he had encounters another wolf. She had managed to brighten his day, if only a little. He paused a comfortable distance, observing the wolf with no small amount of curiosity. The air felt tense in that moment, it send pin pricks along his spine and made him restless. There was no hostility, but a sense of unease nonetheless. Had something happened? It was hard to decipher, but he found himself wondering just how to broach the subject.
"Awful quiet, isn't it? Could drive someone insane, honestly. Never liked it, too awkward. What are you doing lurking around? Can't be for your own wellbeing. There's nothing around but you, me, and the sea. I'm gonna be honest, it's been a tough day for me, if it makes you feel any better. I'm not looking for a fight, but I figured anyone could use some company now and then. That is, if you don't mind" he rambled on just to fill the silence. Despite what many believed, Maxim wasn't all bad. He understood the need for space and distance. But he also understood the importance of an open ear. You just had to vent sometimes and an unjudgemental ear could help. But if he was honest with himself, he was just happy not to be wandering aimlessly anymore.

An intrusion upon his silent brooding made Quail's eyes glisten with curiosity. This male would not just ignore the feeling of someone being around as many had done before him, nor did he seem particularly bothered that Quail was not exactly out and about in the light. Keeping to his hiding place, Quail listened to the stranger's words. How odd to just open an invitation like that. He thought in silence after the first soliloquy was finished. Did the colorful male not realize that could very well be asking for trouble? He had no way of knowing who Quail was or what he was capable of, yet he was open to an interaction.
The masked male tilted his head in wonderment. His interest peaked at such a....innocent seeming outlook of life. Refusing to step out of his safety net of shadows, Quail riveted his pale gaze upon the speaker. "Some burdens are difficult to unload." He even could not make heads or tails of his actions sometimes. What kind of animal confused themselves that he could? His mood swings, the secrecy, the frustration, the inclination for obsession. Yes, Quail knew his faults but that did not make him stop doing them. It did not restrain him in any permanent manner, especially in regards to precious Alina.
"How has such a creature as yourself learned to navigate this cipher called life?" No harm in asking, although the Ghost was surprised to hear the words come out of his mouth. It was a very personal question and Quail prided himself on remaining impersonal. So much for that....
Perhaps he would not even get an answer, in which case Quail could easily sail away deeper into the shadows But he could not help but be curious now that the words had issued forth from his lips.

Jaidah is one of the albinos on the site, a brand new character brought to life by a brand new player. It is interesting to see how such a pure looking being could be wrapped up in the angsty claws that is Irkalla! We will definitely be staying in-tune with this character to see just what heights Bird is able to take her!
