A soft curse word broke the silence around the General as he pushed through the darkness of the early morning and lifted his head to look around. He had been slacking on his patrols lately, and he knew the lands were suffering because of it. This made him growl in irritation under his breath as he pushed forward and headed for the border, intending on remarking it thoroughly so that there would be no question about Kairos's claim to the area. And where was A'ia? Eventually he made it to the border and began to walk slowly, stopping every once in a while to mark a tree here or there before he finally paused and raised his nose to the air. His howl echoed around him for several moments before he let his chin drop and he resumed his patrol. He would have to try harder in the future, for it was his responsibility to ensure that Ser'eri was protected from all harm and intruders.
Perhaps, if he was lucky, A'ia would be nearby. He was confident that she had not left Kairos lands, but he had told her he would take her to see some of their other claims in the future. Would she still want to go with him? But for now he would focus on ensuring that Ser'eri still belonged clearly to Kairos. His paws carried him more quickly now, and though he picked up faint scents of other Kairos wolves, he was pleased to find out that there were no obvious intruders that he could find. Eventually he turned and headed back to where he had slept the night before, unfortunately also not with with A'ia by his side. he would have to go searching for her again at this rate, but he honestly preferred to let her come to him. Either way, he hated that he could not keep a closer eye on her, even though it meant not pushing her away.
With a heavy sigh he came to a stop near a small trickling creek and let out another howl, simply ensuring that anyone and everyone was very well aware that this land belonged to Kairos. When he finished he sat there silently, knowing that he likely had other responsibilities to attend to. But he could not bring himself to move, and instead stared off into the distance for several moments before he slowly pushed himself back up onto his feet. For now he would search for her, then perhaps once he was confident Ser'eri was secure he would take her to see the other territories. If she still wanted to go with him, that was.
