Life had been rather boring lately. If he were honest, Hektor was eager for something interesting to happen. He did not really even care what it was. He had not seen a whole lot of A'ia lately, and with the breeding season coming up so quickly, it made him nervous that she was not near him as often as he preferred. Had she found another Kairos male that she preferred? He growled low under his breath at the thought, taking a deep breath and doing his best to silence the anger than wanted to bubble up inside of him and overflow into a rage on whatever was closest to him. But instead of jumping off that ledge, he instead closed his eyes and shook his head until he calmed down. Then with a heavy sigh, he moved forward towards the hills of Angitu Desert. The view from up at the peak of the largest hill he could find was wonderful, but he was certain he would have appreciated it more with the pretty little isles female at his side.
After several moments of standing and looking about the territory he was charged with protecting, he sat down and leaned into the ground beneath him, allowing himself to relax and do his best to enjoy the beautiful land around him. Then he spotted something unfamiliar that caused the irritation in his belly to rise up once more. It was not a major threat, but it was still a danger to the pack especially this close to the breeding season. Normally he would not bother too much with a lone coyote, but this simply would not do in Kairos territory. With a low growl he pushed himself up onto his feet, standing at his full height as he moved down the slope at a trot which turned quickly into a run. The coyote spotted him several yards into his run, and though it managed to dart towards the border, the large male wolf was close on it's heels. He snarled threateningly as he picked up his speed, but the tiny coyote was smaller and faster, and clearly wanted to survive the entire ordeal.
Before he managed to catch up, it had crossed the border and he skidded to a stop on the edge of Kairos territory. Frustrated and irritated, the male let out a deep howl, threatening the creature and ensuring that any others were well aware of what would happen if they dared cross into Kairos in the future. When his threatening song ended, he promptly began to mark the borders everywhere he could manage, before he moved to pacing back and forth along a wide stretch of the edge of the territory as he ensured the devious little creature would not return. He did not see where it had gone, and he intended to remain there until he was certain that the scent was old and stale and would never come back.
