It had been a few months now since the blue Anikiran female had settled down with her very own and she couldn't have been happier. In truth, it was the very first time she had been truly happy since the murder of her family. Her mate was the exact opposite of her, and it was for that reason that they got along so well. Where she was quiet and submissive, he was strong and outgoing. She enjoyed being claimed and protected and he enjoyed keeping her to himself and watching over her. They had moved quickly during their first meeting and wasted no time in claiming one another, an action Avacyn wasn't too sure of at the time. But she knew now without a doubt that they were meant for one another.
Since they had become mates, they had tried twice to begin carrying the next generation of Anikiran Grey wolves. Though, it wasn't until the second try that their attempts became successful. Slowly but surely, the blue feme's stomach began to grow, proving that she was, in fact, going to become a mother for the very first time. From the beginning of her pregnancy, Avacyn had been much more reserved and introverted than usual. She had never gone through such a thing before and she wanted it to be a private affair between her and her mate. However, towards the end of the road, she couldn't travel far from the den rather she wanted to or not. With a swollen belly she wasn't used to, it didn't take long for her tire out. She would often lay in the sun outside her den or go on small hunts but that was as far as she could go before she was out of breath and ready to return the comfort of her den.
It was late one warm spring night when Avacyn began to feel insanely sharp pains in her belly. She winced and cried out, at first believing that something was horribly wrong. Her worst fears flashed before her eyes as she pictured her pups dying before she could ever even meet them. But, after a few more of the same pains getting consistently stronger and closer together, she finally realized it was time. She was about to become a mother for the very first time. Feebly, she climed to her feet and made her way out of the den. Reaching her muzzle up to the full moon over head, she cried out to her mate. It was a pitiful cry really, one of pain and fear and wasn't as loud as most of her calls, her voice strained. But, she hoped he would hear and come to aid her in her time of need. After all, she wasn't sure she could do this without his support. Waiting only a brief second, she turned and crawled back into her den, collapsing just past the entrance. She knew she wouldn't be standing again until after her pups were born.
