The cure has been found! Wolves on Anikira are recovering from the disease and life is moving forward with the promise of pups in many packs. And yet darkness looms on the horizon, daring the creatures of Anikira to relax and allow themselves to get comfortable once more.
She was content with her life. Gray was an only child and so she did not have to fight others for her parents attention. Every day was an easy day for her. She was able to wake up alongside her mother and she didn't have to worry about her well-being. She truly had a carefree lifestyle. Of course being an only child meant that she had far too much time on her hands. She had moments where she wished she had siblings that she could romp with and explore things with but she simply didn't. She was an intelligent pup, she was aware that she lived in the pack called Kairos and that they were technically all one big family. She knew her daddy had a high position in the pack, he was important and she knew that one day she wanted to be just as important as him. However she needed constant reassurance from her mother and father. If she could explore every day she would be content to do so but sometimes her confidence wasn't completely there. On this particular morning the sun was beaming and Gray had managed to muster up the courage to explore things outside of her den. She didn't want to be cooped up inside any longer not to mention the weather was just far too nice to ignore.
She heard buzzing noises and instantly her ears perked forwards and her bright blue eyes were searching for the source of the sound. She had never seen bees before but as soon as she located one she instantly grew curious. Gray jumped forward, chasing after the buzzing creature until finally she was within grasping distance. She snapped her jaws down, catching it in her mouth until a terrible pain erupted within her maw! A startled shriek escaped her lungs as she promptly spit the creature out on the ground before her. Gray was quite literally in tears as she licked her chops, her right cheek feeling swollen from the sting. "Your a meanie!" She snarled before lurching forward and stomping on it with her two front paws. Thankfully it didn't hurt her paw pads and she crushed it into the ground. Her mouth hurt like no tomorrow. She sat upon the ground with a huff, tears still streaming down her cheeks. She sniffled, wondering what she would do now and how she would be able to make the pain go away.
It was hard to take his eyes off his little daughter, especially after her two sisters seemed to wither away into nothing. Hektor was hurt by the loss of his other two pups, but he knew that Gray would have half-siblings on the way and that he would never let anything harm her. However, she had somehow managed to wander away from the den before he had returned from his latest patrol. When he found Avacyn alone and asleep, a low growl rumbled in his throat. This simply would not do. The fur on his shoulders rose as he heard a cry and a tiny snarl from not too far away, and quickly his large form turned to follow the sound to the source. It was only a matter of moments before he spotted her, and he frowned as she stomped on a bee and cowered in the pain of the sting that she had no doubt received from it.
The swelling and pain would go down eventually, but he knew from experience how uncomfortable such a thing could be. He had done almost the exact same thing as a pup, and he could not help but chuckle slightly and let his posture relax as he approached her. "I've done that before, it's not fun." He said, lowering his head to gently nuzzle the side of her face that was not swollen and sensitive. "Come on, darling, let's get you to the stream, the cool water might soothe it a bit." He said softly, lifting his head and then lowering it again to gently nudge her towards the water. He could probably still carry her, but she would need to get used to walking everywhere eventually if she wanted to be strong and capable when she grew up.
When they reached the water he stopped, sitting down beside the liquid and looking down at his daughter with a small frown on his face. "If you are ever curious about something, you know that I will be around to show it to you. You do not have to go wandering off to find it yourself. What if it had been a coyote, or something worse?" He said, feeling the worry grip his chest as he bit back the words he wanted to add. 'What if I had lost you too?' But he could not say such a thing out loud. It was not his daughter's fault that her sisters had not survived, nor was it her responsibility to help him and Avacyn heal from the loss. That was all far too much to pup on such a young pup's shoulders. "I have to go out on patrols regularly to keep our home safe. But I promise you that I will always come back to you." He watched her quietly before he sighed softly and lowered himself into a laying position at her side. Perhaps he could spend some of the day with her, or maybe she was getting large enough to join him on a patrol.

Jaidah is one of the albinos on the site, a brand new character brought to life by a brand new player. It is interesting to see how such a pure looking being could be wrapped up in the angsty claws that is Irkalla! We will definitely be staying in-tune with this character to see just what heights Bird is able to take her!
