She Walks. | "She talks." | She Thinks.
The days seemed to be getting longer, and hotter as well. She could feel the pups move more and more each day. She didn't know what day they would be due, or even how many were growing within her. All she knew was there was little reprieve from the sun in Khalsa lands. Kharak had chosen the worst place in all of Anikira to plant his roots. Of course she could not say anything to him about it, and she was still flustered from their last meeting. He was such an asshole. She could not stand him. He was handsome, but god he was annoying. She could not leave the pack now, she was far too large and waddling long distance was a challenge for her. She had overheard some other wolves speaking about a place to the south, one that was lush and full of life. She wanted to see green again, she wanted to see life.
She needed a place where there was actually something to look at. It would take a long time for her to get there,so she knew she would need to start early in her journey. Perhaps she would be able to seek the shelter of the trees by the time the sun was at its hottest point. She began her trek, waddling the fastest that she could. The stress on her body was slight, though she was much heavier. It sometimes felt like she was carrying fifty pounds in her belly. But she did not stop. She had a designated destination to find, and she was not going to stop until she made it to the location. The pups were active as usual, pushing against her bladder. She had to pee so badly, so she did stop and relieve herself just near the outlines of the south border.
She was not even thinking to try and conceal her scent, or not let anyone know she was going anywhere. She squatted on the ground and allowed the golden liquid to vacate her body. It felt amazing to do so, and when she was finished, she continued waddling forth. The young wolf made her way forward. When her blue eyes finally saw the lush green treetops, she picked up the pace. Boy she was excited! She could already feel the cool breeze that would rush over her and the shade that covered her body.
At the entrance to the trees, a large smile came across her features. It was the most true smile she had used since being here. This was pure joy. The overhang of over lapping branches formed a protective cover over her back. Already she could feel the heat of the midday sun being hidden away. She found the perfect tree to lay beside and nestled down after three paces in a small circle. She tried to rest her nose on her fluffy tail, but her stomach was far too big to allow such actions to happen comfortably. The puppies seemed to be more rested as well. It appeared the heat was effecting all of them. Her tongue lolled out of her mouth as she began panting delicately.
