Avacyn's history was a dark tale not often told to those around her. It was a tale of murder, of death, of betrayal and, of hatred. There was no good within the storry, no happily ever after, nothing even remotely close to such things. Her past had left her mentally scarred and tormented and was, at every waking moment, a thought in her head even if just a quiet one in the back of her mind. It had taken her a very long time to start healing from the events and there were several times when she wondered if she ever would be able to heal and move on. However, she had eventually decided to join a pack and soon after found herself a mate who she was most definitely had over paws for. For the first time in a long time, she thought there might actually be hope of her happiness returning one day. That hope only grew when she found out she was carrying her first litter of pups. Pups that would hopefully be a new start, a door closing on the dark story of her past and opening to a much brighter future. Each day that passed came with a deeper feeling of excitement and love for her mate and the family that they would soon have. She truly couldn't wait to finally be happy.
When the day came to for her to give birth, she couldn't describe the way she felt, there were no words that could come close. With her mate right there beside her, she gave birth to three gorgeous and healthy girls and for the first time in a long time, the smile upon her face was authentic. She didn't know it was possible for one to feel so much love and happiness, and she definitely didn't think it was at all possible for her out of everyone to feel that way. But she did. She was happy. She had everything she had ever wanted, a mate and a family and things couldn't be more perfect.
Things could, however, be a lot worse. Avacyn very quickly found out that happiness was not written in the stars for her. No more than a week after giving birth, two of her three daughters fell gravely ill. They stopped eating no matter how hard she tried to get them to and they grew weaker and weaker with each passing day. Trembling and pitiful whimpers was all their days were full of and all Avacyn could do was curl up around them and do her best to comfort them. Their suffering only lasted a few days though and as Avacyn woke up one morning she found them lifeless in her arms. For hours she cried over them and snarled at the world around her for being so damn cruel. However, as the last of her tears finally fell, she realized she no longer felt anything and as she laid her head down over her lifeless pups, she stared at the wall ahead of her with glossy eyes.
As she laid there, her head over her pups, time became nonexistent. Days passed by and turned into weeks with no realization of how much time was actually passing and when her mate came to remove the pups and bury them, she couldn't bring herself to respond. and Not a single word was spoken by the blue feme and not once did she attempt to move. She would on occasion move her head enough to lap at water or nibble on leftover food brought by her mate but that was all. It was immediately clear to anyone who saw her that the she wolf was suffering from dissociation caused by a psychotic break. Her physical body had become but an empty shell, her mind miles and miles away.
