She hummed, and he supposed he should be glad that she at least acknowledge she had heard water, but her mind was already miles away before she had looked at the ridge but eventually she had gotten over her wonder enough to cross it and the desert covered in sparse greens intrigued her enough that she wanted to explore it. A large paw shot out to stop her from intruding further and she struggled against it for a moment before intoning politely, soft because of her size but not due to any less determination "Let me go." He still blocked her way, edging his frame to block any path but the way back but did not hold her back as he had before. She dodged to move past him and as they matched each other she continued, not wavering in her determination, but not moving to repeat herself or order him in any manner.
