Life had a way of bringing about the most unexpected of surprises. Gray found that her heart was swelling with joy as of late, mostly because of her mother's recovery. The world had never been such a bright, flourishing place as it was now. She was incredibly thankful to have the elder she-wolf within her life and was eager to make up for their lost time together; however, she had grown used to wandering and exploring on her own. The morning sun had cast it's first rays across the land and young Gray was already out and about.
Her movement across the land was set at an easy, yet quick pace, after all she had places to be! Every so often the female would stop to sniff around or chase after a bug momentarily, but she tried to keep herself focused on getting to the basin as quick as possible. She had heard rumors of a territory within Kairos that was only accessible by water and immediately she desired to go there. Perhaps there would be more wolves to meet and more foliage to examine. The pup's step turned into more of a prance at the excitement brought about by her own thoughts. Today, she was going to attempt to swim within the basin. She imagined that swimming in the basin would be relatively similar to the waters surrounding the island, the only difference being that she would have to swim for much longer. At least there was a safer place to practice!
Azure eyes lit up as the waters came into view and the pup took off in a sprint toward the banks. A delighted yip of excitement parted ways with her muzzle as she ran. Upon reaching the water's edge, Gray nearly tripped and fell in as she had not slowed her pace with adequate timing. Regardless, she giggled happily at her own youthful clumsiness and reclined upon her haunches to gaze into the depths. One paw extended out to splash at the surface lightly. A bit of nervousness swept over her for a few seconds, but Gray forced it from her mind. She was not going to give up so easily, not when this was such a wonderful opportunity. "Here goes nothing," she whispered to herself before bouncing into the waters.
