As it turned out, perhaps her decision to join up with Aludri hadn't been such a bad idea after all.
Andromeda had been unsure about her prospects within this new pack, at first. Not only was it a step up from Valyn, with its largely female-dominated society- here, she would have to work just as hard as anyone else to earn her place, a fact which both excited and terrified her- but she was starting out not familiar with any of the territories, not being able to match names to faces the way she could have when she was still part of Valyn. She'd thought herself at a distinct disadvantage compared to the other members of Aludri, especially when not everybody might take kindly to the prospect of an outsider from another pack joining up with their ranks- but as she'd traveled through the lands that made up the territories the pack called home, becoming acquainted with the boundaries and meeting new faces that she wouldn't have given a second glance otherwise, it only cemented Meda's belief that she had ultimately made the right decision in choosing to break off from Valyn and carve her own path in life.
She still thought about her family, and missed them every day- how could she not? Even when she had her duties within Aludri to distract her, the gold-marked girl often found her thoughts turning to her mother and siblings, wishing above all else that she could have cherished the brief moments they had spent together more before they were all snatched away from her. Andromeda still wasn't sure what to think of her largely absent father, but she doted on her siblings and her mother, despite their many differences, and the thought that she could have so easily left them behind still stung whenever she cared to dwell on it. But she knew that she had to have faith in the fact that they would be safe and cared for within the ranks of Vasilios, in the fact that Saphira would not be so quick to let them all drift apart again after they had only just gotten back together. That and the thoughts of all the potential allies she had already met were enough to give her comfort in times that were still so confusing, and they kept her mind from dwelling on much more troublesome thoughts.
Granted, the serenity of her current surroundings certainly helped as well. The underground pool and caverns of Lerelm were quiet and unoccupied at this hour of the day, leaving her alone to contemplate and unravel her tangled thoughts- not that she would have completely scorned company, for Andromeda could never bring herself to be entirely antisocial no matter how poorly she was feeling, but the gold-marked female liked to think that she would have an easier time of dealing with her emotions should she be left alone for a while. With one paw dipping languidly into the still waters as she laid upon the cold cavern floor, Meda looked relatively peaceful in the solitude that had been offered to her- at least until she heard the soft sound of foot steps from somewhere farther in the caverns, causing her to sit up and shift her blue gaze towards the tunnels that branched off into the distance. "H-Hello? Is someone there?"
