The first few months of her life all Gin could recall was the warmth from her siblings alongside her and the sweet smell of her mother's milk. It had comforted her and even in those moments as a young babe Gin knew that she never wanted to leave their side, ever. It was everything that she knew in life, they were everything that she knew and she couldn't imagine a life without them. The days crawled by and were spent by nursing and sleeping and of course dreaming. She dreamed of what the outside world looked like, what her siblings looked like, and when her eyes finally opened she was not disappointed in anything that she saw. They were all different, every one of them, but they were all perfect in their own ways. Gin loved to snuggle up next to Soifra on particularly cooler nights, and occasionally she would lay across Ferus because she believed he needed the contact. Over time though the pups grew larger and eventually they hit a pivotal moment in their lives - they were ready to get out of the den and explore.
Gin noticed the tension radiating from her mother, the worry was there and Gin wasn't sure why. Her father was confident, always confident, and she loved the way that he looked at her momma. They were perfect and she wanted to be like them but she knew no one could ever love her the way her family did. On this day though her little grey body was wriggling with excitement. She was ecstatic to finally be able to stretch her legs and see all that was meant to be seen in the outside world. It was damn near the crack of dawn when her eyes opened and immediately she was wide awake. Like a wrecking ball she toppled over each of her siblings, sending a paw into their stomach's or ribs on her way towards the opening of the den. Her tail wagged furiously, her eyes bright as she turned then and when she spoke she was practically shouting. "Its a beautiful day! Let's gooooo!" She screeched like a banshee before running back towards her brothers and sisters as if to encourage them further. Except well Gin wasn't very graceful and the second she picked up speed she was tripping over her own large feet and toppling forward. She rolled, colliding with someone and landed in a heap. "Ouch.. well..okay let's go!" She quipped, quickly getting up and shaking off the pain from the impact before bounding back towards the opening of their den. Today was going to be an amazing day she just knew it.
Even at a young age, Ragra could somehow tell that she was different from the rest of her siblings. It wasn't just that she was smaller than the rest of them, appearing much more delicate even next to her sisters- and she would likely remain that way even through adulthood, as her father had once told her with an uncharacteristically solemn look on his face- but it was the spells that she would get sometimes, completely unaware to them until either someone pointed them out to her or she had time to think on why there were huge gaps in her memory of what had happened upon a certain day. Her parents had tried their best to explain her condition to her, saying that she often had spells where she would either stare off into space with her facial muscles slack or fall to the ground in violent convulsions, but with no memory of such events except the confusion and sore muscles that came with coming out of a more severe seizure, Ragra could not yet bring herself to wrap her head around the fact that she had epilepsy and was different from the rest of her family in so many regards.
She only understood that it was bad, somehow, and that it put great stress on her parents and siblings to see her that way, and it was enough to make her insecure even at the best of times. The last thing the young Eden female wanted was to be a burden to her family, after all, and the very thought of such a thing had made her rather self-isolating in recent times.
But today, at least for the time-being, she could put such thoughts behind her. Snuggled up with her siblings and parents, Ragra had found herself drifting in and out of a heavy slumber as the morning wore on, reveling in the peace and quiet that she had finally found herself a part of- at least until Gin, ever impatient to get out of the stifling den they all shared, placed a paw firmly on her ribs and started shrieking like a banshee while saying that it was time to venture outside. Grumbling under her breath, the young female attempted to shift her position in order to roll over, trying her best to ignore Gin (which was easier said than done, when her larger sister was currently shrieking in her ear like an enraged eagle) and drift back to sleep. She was far from being in a proper mood to be awake this early, after all, and she inwardly hoped that her sister would take the quite obvious hint and save her excitement for a much more appropriate time.
Her hope was evidently in vain, as Gin was quick to re-enter the den and tumble on top of both Ragra and the other siblings, causing Ragra to sputter and sit up in order to rid her body of her sister's weight. "Okay, Gin, okay. We're up," she grumbled, sitting up and blinking the last traces of fatigue out of her system as she shook her pelt free of any clinging dust that she might have picked up. With one last glance back towards her parents, waiting for any kind of confirmation that it was okay to venture outside, she was exiting the den and making her way towards Gin, blinking rapidly as the bright sunlight met her eyes. "So what, are we gonna play now? Hide and seek's more fun with all of us, y'know, and we gotta make sure it's okay with Mom and Dad." Inwardly she hoped that the rest of her family would hurry up and join them soon- Gin was much easier to deal with if her parents or even her more even-tempered siblings were there to ground her, after all, and Ragra wasn't exactly in much of a mood to be dealing with her sister's overenthusiastic nature at the moment.

Getting kicked in the groin was not an ideal way to start his day, forcing him to feel like a grump already. Black eyelids opened slightly as he shot a glare towards the escaping cause. His sister did not have the time to apologize, for much like the others, she was too consumed in herself. Nefarian finally moved to stand on his four small paws. His tail brushed against the ground, kicking some dirt and stones towards his other sleeping siblings. A soft snarl escaped from his lips as he moved for the entrance to the den. He didn't even stop to see if his parents were going to stop Gin. She was a wrecking ball of the peace and silence. The first to leave after Gin was Ragra, the strange little sister that looked very much like him. The only difference between them was the white she had on her muzzle and chest.
The two girls were off doing their own thing, and he could not be bothered with either of them. He rolled his eyes as he moved passed them both. He wished he could walk and shut his ears from their noise. They were so annoying. He would rather be off doing his own thing, hunting or finding some sort of special thing for himself to have. Not even speaking to them, he wandered further and further from the den. He knew that one of them would probably shout at him, but he would pretend not to hear them. If Ragra could have some fake attention-seeking illness, then he could be deaf.
Finding a soft patch not too far from his sisters, he sauntered over to it. But it was not long before he found that patch, that something else caught his eye. Tilting his head to the side ever so slightly, he stepped forward. Climbing up a small incline, he got to the top, only to see more rolling hills for miles and miles. His thin black tail waged gently from side to side with excitement. He did not have time for games, he wanted excitement! Rushing from his position, he started his descent down the hill, heading for freedom.
Regina didn't really consider herself a morning pup by any means, but she did usually like to wake up bright and early, if only because it meant she could stay awake and play for a little bit longer. It was also fun to be up and around before her siblings and parents, and steal a little bit of solitude for herself before everybody else woke up.
It wasn't that Regina didn't like to be around her family - the opposite was true, in fact. She loved the company of her siblings, and especially of her big, strong father and loving mother. She loved talking to them, and playing with them, and teasing them, but every once in a while she liked to be by herself as much as she could be. She was usually a lot calmer when she was alone, and the calm was a nice change of pace from the playing and laughing that permeated the rest of her existence.
Plus, it was kind of like having an adventure, being the first one to wake up. Her whole world was the den and the little bit of land beyond it where her parents let the whole litter roam about; adventures were hard to come by without being disobedient, and Regina hated to upset her parents by breaking the rules.
Today, though, she had overslept, snuggled between two of her siblings’ bodies with her nose pressed up against Soifra's belly. She was nice and comfy, and was just beginning to slowly surface from the deep sleep of the night before when a set of tiny paws landed right in the middle of her back, followed by the sharp, excited squealing of her sister, Gin.
Regina yelped and scrambled into her paws, sore and bristling angrily at the rude awakening as she snarled, “That hurt, Gin!”
But Gin was already tumbling outside, too far away to beat up and moving too fast to catch up with. Regina snapped her tiny teeth after the gray pup instead, then shook out her multicolored coat and sat down with an angry huff to smooth the fur on her shoulders with her tongue. She'd go outside when she felt like it, not when stupid Gin decided she wanted everybody outside.

He had been awoken that morning by the sound of his daughter's excited screeching, an event that was becoming a common occurrence these days. Rather than being irritated over such a thing, as any other new father might have been, Ragnarok simply smiled to himself, pretending to be asleep for several more minutes until tiny paws jabbed into his side and prodded him awake again. He admired Gin's zest for life, after all, admired her enthusiasm towards life and all that it held- admired all of his pups, really, in the way that only a father could. If someone had told him a scarce year ago that he would be a father to his own litter of pups one day, that he would grow so close to a spitfire of a female that he had met in unfamiliar lands, that he would mate and start a family with this same female- well, suffice it to say Ragnarok would have laughed in their face, albeit as politely as possible. He'd never imagined that he would be in this situation, having a family of his own to love and cherish (in fact, for the longest time he hadn't thought that someone like him deserved a loving family), but now that they were here he couldn't have been more thrilled over their presence. He could no more bring himself to be annoyed over the antics of his pups than he could rip one of his own toe nails out.
They were under his protection, as so many of the other Eden members were, and he was not going to fail them as he had failed Soifra's last litter. Not without putting up one hell of a fight, anyway.
Rising to his feet and taking a moment to stretch the kinks out of his aging muscles, Ragnarok first turned and gave a gentle nuzzle to his sleeping mate, smiling softly as he did his best to rouse her as carefully as possible. "Love, the pups are awake, and they want to explore. Perhaps we could indulge them for a bit?" He would wait just long enough for an answer before squeezing his way out of the den that they all shared, stepping out into the morning sunlight to look over his gathered children with a content smile upon his face. Gin, who was already filled with energy at such a tender hour, her silver pelt that was so much like her mother's glittering in the morning sun as she raced around. Ragra, who he sent a look that was slightly more worried than it should have been towards- he had seen the violent convulsions that his smallest daughter had suffered from at the most inopportune of times, after all, and he knew the risks that such a condition could have. While he hardly wanted to coddle his daughter, he also wished to let her know that she wasn't alone in dealing with her condition, and finding the delicate balance between the two had been challenging as of late. But he admired the spunk that she had inherited from her mother, the fiery determination to make something of herself, and it was what made him smile as he stepped up alongside the small gathering.
"Hide and seek sounds like a splendid idea," he announced, nuzzling Ragra slightly even as she attempted to squirm away from him. "Though it seems we are short a few members. Where are Ferus and-" He squinted, noting that all of his daughters were gathered but none of his sons- at least until movement in the peripheral vision of his good eye caught his attention, causing him to swivel in time to see Nefarian running off on top of the slopes. "Ah. It seems we have a runaway. Excuse me for a moment." With that, Ragnarok was off, lapsing into a fast lope that allowed him to easily catch up with his son within a few strides. Reaching forward to gently grab Nefarian by the scruff and redirect him back towards the gathering, Ragnarok would carry his son for a few feet before depositing him back upon solid ground again, staring at him with all the sternness he could possibly muster in that moment. "Ah, Nef, what am I going to do with you?" he asked softly, shaking his massive head back and forth slowly as he gazed down at the pup that had seemed determined to be the black sheep of the family from day one.
"You know better than to be running off without letting one of us know where you're going. Come now, your siblings want to play hide and seek. If you find the best spot of all, I'll see about letting you explore on your own for a bit, alright?" Hoping to appeal to his son's somewhat ambitious nature, Ragnarok gently nudged Nefarian back in the direction of the family gathering, striding up and lowering himself into a seated position as he waited to see just what his pups had decided they had in store for the day.

[attr="class","pltxt"]Soifra's peaceful sleep was shattered with the sound of one of her daughters gleefully hollering inside the family den - but in her sleepy state, she only initially registered that her daughter was shouting. Her head shot up in alarm, as alert as she could possibly be… but the was no danger here. All of her pups were safe in their den - antsy, and some less thrilled than others to be awake, but all together still, and all where she could see and protect them.
Ragnarok’s low voice and warm, solid form beside her helped to further ease her panic, and Soifra allowed herself to breathe a quiet sigh of relief as the tension slowly bled out of her shoulders and back.
“Oh, alright,” she said, managing to smile even as her belly knotted, as she was beginning to suspect it always would, in dismay at the prospect of letting her pups wander outside into the cruel world beyond their den. But Ragnarok was here with her, and between them surely they could protect their children from anything or anyone foolish enough to attempt to rip her family away from her once again.
And it didn't help anyone if she tried to keep her pups sheltered from the outside world - they had to learn to defend and look after themselves, and they couldn't do that if they never had the chance to learn.
Soifra turned and nosed at the one pup still curled against her belly, murmuring gently, “Come on, little love. Time to wake up.” Then she rose and stretched for herself, and followed the rest of their family outside, where it seemed Ragnarok was about to lead the pups in a game of hide-and-seek.
“Ferus is having a little trouble waking up,” Soifra said in answer to her mate. As Ragnarok bolted after Nefarian, she turned to the remaining three pups and said, “I suppose we'll have to wait a moment for our boys, my dears.”

It is interesting to see how such a pure looking being could be wrapped up in the angsty claws that is Irkalla! We will definitely be staying in-tune with this character to see just what heights Bird is able to take her!
