Ragra, in retrospect, perhaps shouldn't have gone out on her own that day.
She'd felt justified in striking out on her own, that morning. She was more than old enough to do so now, and it wasn't as if her parents actually paid enough attention to notice that she was gone- and she wanted to be free of their rather smothering influence for once, wanted to be free of all the restrictions they placed on her in order to keep her safe in the midst of her condition. Ragra was constantly bitter over being treated differently from the rest of her siblings and being met with quizzical stares at every turn just because she happened to have "fits" on occasion, and she was equally bitter over anyone trying to tell her that she'd have this condition for the rest of her life, that it would never truly go away even under medical supervision- of course it would go away, or be controlled completely! It was only some stupid childhood sickness that she had, nothing more and nothing less. She'd grow out of it with age, or else prove that she could control it and go through the weeks of her life without having a big event, and that would be that.
But she'd woken up that morning with a slight headache, and it had only gotten worse the deeper she ventured into Eden territory, stopping every few strides to paw at her face with an irritated expression. While it was true that she'd had headaches warning her a few minutes ahead of time before a seizure happened, Ragra chose not to pay attention to this one- surely this one was only because she hadn't gotten any food within her system yet, and her system was still trying to adapt itself to being awake. Everyone felt a bit woozy right after waking up, after all, and she was surely no different. She just had to get to the lake and get a drink of water, get some semblance of food in her system, and she'd be fine. Even if her legs were beginning to feel like they had pins shoved in them, pricking and jabbing with every step she took, even if a strange metallic taste had suddenly sprung into her mouth, she was fine. She was fine. She was here at the beach, and she'd get a drink, and then she'd be on her way because she was absolutely fine-
That was the last coherent thought that ran through Ragra's mind, her vision going black and consciousness fading as the seizure began. Those observing would have seen the young pup's body tensing like a drawn bow string and her brilliantly yellow eyes rolling back as a loud, painful-sounding groan erupted from her tightening throat, her stiffening limbs causing her to fall heavily to one side and into the waters of the lake with a loud splash. For a moment the limbs remained stiff and rigid, causing Ragra to lay there like a silent, warped statue- and then her entire frame began to quiver and thrash, limbs splaying out and twitching rapidly, head lolling and mouth rapidly opening and closing to snap at the air as choked sounds escaped from her throat. To any outsiders, the view would have looked absolutely terrifying- the young female convulsing within the waters of the lake, water sloshing around her as froth began to gather at the edges of her lips, groans and choking sounds alike escaping from her mouth as she seemingly fought to bring air back into her lungs- but perhaps mercifully, Ragra remained blissfully unaware of what was happening in the midst of such a large seizure, for she had blacked out almost as soon as the event had begun, and was unaware of anything that was occurring.
That also meant, of course, that she was in very serious danger of drowning because of her seizure, not being at all aware that she had fallen into water or that she was miles away from any of her family members who might have been able to assist. All that could be done now was hope that any bystanders who happened to pass by would at least be able to haul her out of the water and watch over her until the seizure ended, or else Ragra was going to be in a very real pickle.
