The time had come. The winter was pouring from the sky in buckets. It was hard to get any shelter from it, and yet, Perseus knew that he needed to get away from Ina'mos. He was destined to be on Vor'asa to begin his training for the Agoge. There was no better time to leave than the present. His father said his goodbyes with a promise that he would return. He always made sure to say fair well to his sisters. He knew he would return with the destined egg he was forced to. It was not a chore to Perseus, no it was the task of his life. Everything would amount to these long months he would spend away from the warmth of his family. He would need to be on his own now and if he ran into another accomplishing the same tasks, he might help them. If it were Belial, of course he would help him out. The male rushed for the sea, the snow falling over the lands. It clung to his fur and it helped to weigh him down ever so slightly. One paw stepped into the chilling waters that separated Perseus from his destiny.
It was only a momentary hesitation, and soon it was over. He bounded forward, the ice meeting him so aggressively. It cut to his skin, ripping through each strand of fur for a chance to chill him to his very core. He knew that if he stopped moving, the waters would surely take him under and he would never see anyone he loved ever again. His paws moved with such force, and all the strength he had built up over time. His muscles were ready for this task. Each time he moved forward, his head was pulled under the crashing waves a couple of times and at one point he did get salt water in his eyes and nose. It was terrible, the worst feeling he had ever felt. But he knew he had to make it to the water's end. He could see the mainland and he kicked harder.
"Come on Perseus," he spoke to himself. Soon he made it to the shore and his paws landed on the sands. Sure there was a mixture of snow there too, which he had heard was going to happen - but he had also been told that Ina'mos should have more snow than the main lands. Vor'asa was large and there were very little to no trees. He could feel the chill of the water stuck in his coat, ruining his insulation. He knew what monsters he would be seeking out, and he knew that there would be other dangers in their hibernation or brumation states. He was told of the reindeer that wandered the lands. He had eaten some before, when father brought it home with him - but it would be crazy to actually hunt one down for himself.
Thinking over where he would be able to find the illustrious birds he needed to seek out, and of course, their eggs. He was told that the eagles could be found in the wastes, and in the cove. Where exactly would that be? Sure the cove was on the coast, but what if it was hard to find? The wastes were explained to him as something very dangerous and dry. With the crazy winter this year, how would that affect the areas. First thing he needed to do was to find shelter from the storms. He wanted to find somewhere he could rest for a couple of hours and then build up the courage to start his Agoge.
