Regina wrinkled her nose and sneezed as another icy wind blustered about her dark form, bringing with it scraps of fluffy white stuff she had learned by now was called snow. While it had been fun to look at and play in four the first week or so, the wet and cold that came with it had caused it to swiftly lose its novelty. The nights were almost unbearably cold, even when she curled up tight with her whole family in the den they all still shared. The daytime wasn't much better; what little sunlight managed to peek through the thick gray clouds overhead was milky and pale, and Regina felt sure it only felt warm at all because it wasn't possible to be any colder than the snow felt against her unprotected paw pads, or the wind against her eyes and snout.
She didn't know yet if this icy whiteness was normal, either for the season or for the territory she called home. She also didn't quite know what to make of it, though she supposed she had more and better reasons to dislike it than she did to enjoy it as thoroughly as she had at first. Being pretty and fun to gallop through and leap into didn't really make up for the cold gray sludge that the snow turned into near the den entrances and around other areas with lots of traffic.
Still, no matter how she felt about snow, there didn't seem to be a great deal that she could do about it. It came out of the sky from those big, dark clouds, so it had to be weather of some kind. All the other weather came from overhead, and she couldn't make it stop being windy or sunny, either. All she could do was put up with the snow until it decided to go away. It wouldn't last forever, right?
Although… putting up with it would be easier and more fun if she had somebody to do it with. Instead she'd chosen to meander into a big, open spot near the heart of the territory, and had been laying on her back and staring gloomily up at the sky for… who knew how long.
Maybe she should get up and find somebody to hang out with.
