Thought

She was not supposed to go out on her own. That much had been clear. It made sense after such a long and explainable disappearance that Shekinah and Lemuel would want to keep an eye on her, Her threat had yet to be identified. Eternia had tried to force her subconscious to reveal a face or any other clue that would help them figure out just exactly who had taken her, but to no avail. Frustrated with herself, the white fem had decided to go for a walk. At first she had been worried that she would be forced to entertain company, but it appeared she was able to walk away from the watching eyes of Eden without interruption.

Left alone to her thoughts, the blind fem slowly made her way. Had she really been missing for nearly two years? The thought was still a hard one to grasp. Even more so was the thought that no one had been able to find her. Had anyone even tried? Eternia grimaced at the thought, chiding herself. Of course someone had. Eden was a family. If one of their own went missing, especially without word or hint as to where one had gone, others would search. End of discussion.

A lot had changed in two years. Pups had grown, now gaining their own ranks as they entered adulthood. New moms had had births, bringing a whole new generation into Anikira, and there were so many names and relations to learn. But for today, Eternia just wanted to walk. She wanted to walk and take in her surroundings, re-familiarize herself with her pack's lands, and be alone with only Elohim and nature itself as company. It brought her a certain peace she had not felt in what felt like an eternity.

Before she could comprehend just how far she had actually ventured, Eternia came upon the Great Divide. Her ears perked at the sound of rushing water, and her tongue automatically snaked out to moisten her lips. She changed course, headed towards the glacial waters that had begun to thaw from the change in season. A drink would be most welcome.

notes: Lost in her thoughts, Eternia has left Eden's lands and stopped at the Great Divide for a quick drink.

He Walks. | He Talks. | He Thinks.

He was a bit far from home, but since he had happened upon the sick white female wolf and her brother, he was hesitant to head directly back to Aludri's lands. Instead he had decided to stretch his legs throughout Cryothia, for though it no longer officially belonged to him or his pack, it still somehow felt like home. Perhaps he was just making things up in his mind, but it was relaxing nonetheless. That is, until he spotted a pale form up against the blue of the glacial runoff up ahead. He paused for a moment to ensure he had not crossed any borders and then approached slowly on his side of the Great Divide, careful not to step into one of the many cracks that spread through the ice there.

"Hello." He said softly, dipping his head to drink as well. He was careful to keep his posture relaxed and his tail down, for though he used to own these lands, they were now unclaimed and anyone was welcome to tread upon them if they wished. He made no other moves to approach her or speak to her, and instead enjoyed a long drink for several minutes before he finally lifted his head and lowered his hips into a sitting position. She was clearly from somewhere nearby, and though she did not appear to be fully aware of the fact she was on unclaimed territory, she did not seem lost or frightened either. "I am Arche, leader of Aludri to the west." He said in a relaxed tone, tilting his head and scanning her over slowly.

She appeared to be healthy and well, but as his eyes scanned up to her face, he realized that her eyes were glazed over and there were no pupils that he could make out. So she was blind, or at least appeared to be. He knew he should not judge her or make assumptions without even letting her speak at all, so he went quiet and waited patiently for a response from her. He also kept his distance, because the last thing he wanted to do was frighten her or accidentally come off as threatening or a danger to her. He was quite the opposite, but how was she to know that other than his relaxed posture and calm voice?

The frigid waters soothed Eternia's thirst with each lap of her tongue. She took her time with each drink, allowing the escaping water droplets to snake down her chin. Paired with the early spring wind, the droplets felt brisk on her lips. Another sensation brought to life, something not most wolves paid attention to. Without her sense of sight, the blind fem often found herself lost in the simple things, finding admiration or awe at the world Elohim had created. It truly was something else.

A soft hello brought Eternia back from her thoughts. It was a neutral calling, not abrasive or overbearing. She gave him a nod, or at least aimed to nod in his direction, since she had not had much sound to go off and pinpoint his direction. She heard the sounds of a wolf bending to drink, and Eternia continued to do the same. During the silence, Eternia took the chance to take in his scent. He was not of Eden, that was for sure. It had been so long since the blind fem had a chance to patrol the borders, but she could not assume that it had become such a new problem. Perhaps she had ventured farther than intended in her walk? Yes, that would make sense. After all, she did not remember having a flow of water this long within the Eden territory prior to her disappearance. But how had she gone so far north and not noticed crossing the river between Tiayr and Cryothia. Perhaps the main channel had still been frozen, allowing her to travel this far.

He introduced himself after quenching his thirst, giving her an indication of where he was from. She had remembered the pack of Aludri, or at least of hearing about them. She was surprised they were still around despite her disappearance. Perhaps things did not change as much as she thought. "Eternia, Alo of Eden to the Southeast." She responded in kind, matching his tone. She did not want any trouble.

Feeling the weight of his gaze roll over her, Eternia cleared her throat. It was not a new experience for her, to have people stare at her blank eyes. Some found them disturbing, haunting even. She had learned to live with their stares. "I apologize if I am intruding, I had not meant to come so far north." Despite having come further north than planned, she had not detected any change of scent markers on her journey. Without her sense of sight, the white fae always used her sense of smell to her full advantage. She would have noticed if she had crossed into another pack's lands.

"What brings the leader so far outside his lands?" She inquired, her tone neutral. It was not a crime for a wolf to travel outside their pack lands. However Eternia did find it unusual for the leader of a pack to be so far from his home without escort. It seemed rather careless.

Notes: Cautious and careful, Eternia is unsure of how to proceed with this new male. Will he be as harmful as the last male she met, whom had kept her captive as his pet?

He could see her body tense slightly, but at the same time she seemed rather confident that she had not trespassed. Rightfully so, for she had not. When she introduced herself, he nodded silently in recognition. He had met wolves from Eden before, and although he had gone through one negative experience with one on Aludri territory, he held little against them. He knew Eden to be fairly peaceful, and for the most part they kept to themselves. "It is a pleasure to meet you, Eternia." He said, settling in on his side to get comfortable. His coat was easily adjusted for the climate that they rested in, therefore he was not in the least bit uncomfortable.

"Aludri used to lay claim to Cryothia. I claimed it when my father was still alive, though we have since forfeited it back to neutral territory." He said, looking around absently. He had easily noticed the blankness in her eyes, and as he had encountered blind wolves before, it was no shock to him that she could not see. "I suppose I just get nostalgic sometimes and come back to visit the place." He added, finally returning his eyes to her pale form. He was not certain that she was up in the cold area for the same reason, but her reasoning was really none of his business to begin with anyways. "How is Eden fairing with this winter? It seems the harshest I have experienced so far." He said, frowning as he kicked a small bit of snow out from in front of him to reveal tiny spots of grass struggling to grow. They would never blossom fully here, but perhaps back in his home they would soon grace Aludri with their presence once more.

He was not meaning to pry, nor had he any intentions of gathering information about her pack to harm them. He was merely curious if this winter was attacking the whole of Anikira and how the other packs were handling things. He knew of his pups wandering occasionally into Caurus, and though he was careful to keep an eye on them, they were growing so quickly that he was certain he could no longer so easily control them. But from what he could tell, the pack of Foraz was fairing alright. They did not like it, but it seemed the wolves of the north were the ones most prepared for such a phenomenon. For a brief moment he wondered if the packs in the south had snow covered lands as well, and whether or not it was a difficult season for them. He supposed he should not care as much about others, but it was simply in his nature and he could not help but think about Alina and how her coat was not made for such things. But she was safe at home, and he would check on her when he returned just in case. Plus, it never upset him to be at her side.

The blind fem smiled. He was pleasant company, the leader of Aludri. His voice was calm and he had an easy-going demeanor. It allowed her to relax in his presence. She nodded as he spoke about the territory and the memories that came with it. His father must have passed, whether it was recent or not Eternia could not tell. She had not detected any change of tone in his voice, leading her to believe it had happened quite some time ago. Eternia allowed herself to get comfortable, bending down to relax with the earth. The ground was colder than that of her home territory, but Eternia welcomed the change. Her arctic coat had not experienced much of the colder territories. It was a nice change.

Her blind eyes rose from the general direction of the rushing water to follow Arche's voice. His tone was neutral when he inquired about Eden's fortune with the harsh weather that had passed. Truth be told, Eternia had not been around to experience it. She had been held captive, by someone, at another part of Anikira. Her memory had somehow been damaged around the escape, either psychologically or physically. Regardless, she had lost important information relevant to her disappearance. It had frustrated her. When she had told Shekinah and Lemuel, they both had had questions. Questions she could not answer.

Rather than unloading that information on the outsider, Eternia cleared her throat. "We are doing about as expected. Shekinah has lead us well during the trying months." She was not exactly lying, more like being expertly vague. It was something she was becoming good at. "And you? How was Aludri fared this winter?" Their conversation was easy to carry-on. Briefly Eternia wondered if Eden and Aludri were allies. If the rest of his wolves followed in his footsteps, Eternia had no reason to doubt that Aludri was a pleasant place. Perhaps she would bring it up to Shekinah. Maybe even venture to the other pack's lands in the future. She had felt like an alien since coming back to Eden, perhaps a little side mission would help her settle back in to a normal routine, help her put the last two years behind her.

A harsh wind had begun to run its course. Even with her thicker coat, Eternia could not help but shiver. Was another storm on the way? The day had begun beautifully, but that did not mean it had to stay that way. They were nearing the end of winter after all, and with the beginning of spring storms would become more frequent. The only trouble now would be finding shelter. This realm was foreign to Eternia. She did not have the terrain memorized. She did not know where to go, in case the storm worsened and she had to wait it out. The thought made her uneasy.

Eternia rose to her feet, looking around anxiously. With a grim look on her face, Eternia had come to a decision. "I hate to impose, but these lands are still new to me and I fear this storm could get worse before the time it takes me to return to Eden." Her head swiveled so that it was no longer pointed into the wind. Her blind eyes narrowed and she raised her voice so that she could still be heard. The wind had definitely picked up pace. With worry clearly etched on her face, Eternia returned her gaze in Arche's general direction. "Do you know of a place where I might be able to wait this out?" The white female rose to her feet. She was anxious to get out of the storm.

notes: Little speech, lot of nonsense. Whether he just wants to help her find shelter and then leave or stay and talk is up to you! I know your muse isn't the easiest with Arche.

It was easy for him to keep track of the growing wind and cold as he focused on the female before him. It sounded like Eden was doing alright, and though they were not his pack, he was glad to hear that they would survive the winter. At the question of his own pack, he offered a small shrug that she could not even see anyways. "We have managed. Though I am looking forward to the end of this winter." He said, shaking his head and pushing himself up onto his feet. Finally she shivered and spoke about shelter and how she did not know the area. He nodded slightly and moved forward, careful to not keep his steps quiet so that she could hear him. "Lucky for you, your pack's territory is not particularly far. If we travel back in their direction a short distance there should be a small cave for you to rest in for the storm so that you can travel the rest of the distance back once it is over." He said, slowly approaching her and pausing as he reached her side.

The wind blew at his back now as he moved, making sure to keep his steps slow enough for her to follow even in the growing winter storm. He was certain that even if she wanted to she could make it all the way back to Eden's homeland before the storm was too great, but if she wanted to rest the cave would be a good place to sleep until she wanted to go further later. Eventually his steps took him to the cave, and he stopped at the entrance. "It is not quite large enough for both of us, but I should be getting back to Aludri to make sure that this storm is not impacting them as well." He said, offering her a small smile and a gentle nod. He supposed it was habit, even though she could not even see the gestures. But he would at least wait until she settled in to leave.

His hips lower to the snow as he used his form to block the wind from her the best he could, and he waited for her to either settle in or head back to Eden's border. Either way, he would wait and watch until she was safe and then he would turn back and head back towards Shyia. His tail wrapped to rest on his paws as he sat there, his green eyes watching her carefully with mild concern and a friendliness that he showed anyone that meant no threat to his pack or family.

It was with relief that the two begun the trek to a cave. Eternia was grateful that Arche was willing to escort her. Not only that, but he was conscious of her limitations. He did not walk too fast, or even too far ahead of her. Instead the two kept pace side by side, occasionally the white fem pushing them to move a little faster. She did not care if she stumbled along the way. It was something that she was used to. Blind wolves were not the most graceful beings.

The wind howled at their backs. Eternia's pelt was thick, supposedly made for this climate, but she wondered how her company was fairing. His pack used to rule the area, so perhaps he too was born of a thicker pelt. Still, Eternia did her best not to slow down their progress.

Eventually Arche's steps slowed. The ground changed beneath Eternia's feet, becoming more firm and colder to the touch. Her claws clinked briefly against the rocky surface. She continued forward, though she was aware that Arche did not follow her in. It did not take her long to figure out why. Even without sight, she could tell the space was just small enough to shield her from the storm. She found herself a corner where the wind's reach was light, and proceeded to spin herself into a small bundle until she came to rest on the ground. Her chin rested on her front paws, her tail tucked in along her snout. Her blank eyes followed the origin of his voice, to which she gave her own nod. "Agreed. Thank you for the escort." While she would love to sit and chat with the alpha further, his people came first. She could respect that. Come morning, when the storm had calmed, she would be able to use the scents on the wind to travel the rest of the way home.

An impressive yawn left her maw. "You are more than welcome to wait here until a lull in the storm before you make your exit, Arche." She let her lids drift shut, already feeling the call of sleep. Whether he waited or not, Eternia was sure to stay awake until she heard him make his departure. Her voice followed him as he left, "Until next time."

Notes: Listened to some soft acoustics, so sorry if this a boring closure.
