will of the tide [Andromeda] Jun 2, 2019 23:57:15 GMT -6

It had been a mistake to go exploring in Issimor Caverns while the tide was rising. At first Athalie hadn’t considered the fact the water was rising at all. She’d simply been keen to see how deep into the dark cave system she could get, squeezing her lithe body through narrow crevices and scrambling up piles of crumbling debris which must have fallen during a previous cave in. It was fun travelling through the darkness, finding her way through a maze below the earth. She hadn’t been allowed in here when she was younger. Her parents had claimed it was too dangerous for a pup, but now that their little princess was over a year old she felt she was independent enough to be able to try it.
Although maybe they had been right about the danger… At one point Athalie found some bones which looked suspiciously like those of a wolf. That was when she had started to grow worried. She didn’t particularly fancy getting herself trapped in this hole – not when nobody knew she was in here. Aludri would probably think she had run off again, as exploring the lands neighboring Shyia was known to be a common hobby of hers.
After finding the bones, Athalie had decided to head back the way she had come. Halfway back she noticed that the water was deeper than it used to be, and then a bit further on a tunnel that had been partly submerged was now fully underwater. She emerged on the other side coughing and spluttering, more than a little panicked by this stage. And now she couldn’t remember which of the next three passages led to the exit. The water lapped just below her shoulders as she turned her head back and forth, trying to decide. “Heeelp,” she whined, although of course it was too quiet for anyone to hear. So, after sucking a deep breath into her lungs, she threw her head back and released a howl to anyone nearby. It sounded incredibly loud in the confines of the cave – hopefully it was powerful enough to reach outside.
