History: There was a couple in the outskirts of Portland, Maine who ran an illegal puppy mill that focused on Newfoundland Dogs, posing as professional breeders. Their prized female at the time was a brown Newfound by the name of Rose. They had gotten her from another breeder who considered the female to be a reject despite the little amount of flaws there were in her conformation who was offering her for a cheap price. The couple originally started to take great care of Rose but as time passed and the number of litters grew, her owners started to take less care of her. By her third third litter, she had fallen rather ill not too long into the pregnancy. When the time came for her to give birth, all three except for Rigel were stillborn. Rose had died shortly after giving birth to her final litter and the event threatened the couple’s financial stability as their business had already started to near its end. The police were starting to catch onto them as were their previous buyers and with the death of their favorite female gave them no other option but to stop breeding. They ended up keeping Rigel and used one of their other nursing mothers to help raise him.

As Rigel grew older, it was obvious that he had a lot of potential just like his mother did. His conformation was almost perfect which was better and what his mother’s was. It didn’t take long for dollar signs to appear when they thought of him but they knew that they could no longer breed. After doing a lot of research and thinking, the couple decided that they would rent out Rigel’s stud services. The male ended up being higher in demand than they had initially thought and they started to make more money than they had originally done with their breeding business. In order to stay under the detection of police, they made sure to take nothing but the best care of Rigel and got him properly registered and everything. For the first few months of studding him out, the couple only sent him to places throughout the United States, but one day they got an offer from a lady that lived in England who was offering a price that no one had yet to match. After much thought, the couple decided that they would all take a ship to England to go meet the high paying buyer. 

A few hours into the voyage, a storm appeared over the Atlantic Ocean near Africa, causing big waves and heavy winds. At first, the captain was able to sail through it but after a while, he was no longer able to keep water from entering the boat. The blue liquid started to fill the bottom of the bottom and it seemed to get higher and higher by the second. The boat had no chance by then and it started to slowly sink. Rigel was able to get away before the ship completely submerged and after about an hour of swimming, he swam up to the shores of Anikira. 

Personality: Since he was deemed special from the start, he was treated as such. The constant pampering and praise that Rigel received when he was younger caused him to develop a narcissistic personality, though some would argue that it might be because of something wrong with his brain. He has a feeling of high importance compared to others around him and sees himself as being better than everyone else around him. Whenever he is in the presence of someone, he would do whatever possible to make him look better than whoever is in his company. If anyone tries to give him any form of criticism, he will often lash out in anger as he is unable to take criticism due to a deeply hidden low self-esteem. The flaws he exploits of others are the ones he feels he has. Anytime he sees something useful about someone, the large canine will do whatever it takes to obtain them, having no disregard for others. Any of the females that end up in his presence, he believes should feel honored for being in his company. Rigel expects them to do as he wishes since he is far beyond them and if they don’t, it isn’t uncommon for him to physically lash out. He is incapable of forming any serious relationships as he feels no emotional ties to anyone. However, his insatiable hunger for his sexual desires causes him to often seek out the company of the other sex but he can never seem to be satisfied.
