History: Years ago on the western reaches of Anikira, there were two small packs that had been on edge with each other for months, skirmishing over land claims and hunting rights when the prey moved between territories. In the midst of these skirmishes, the alpha pair of the pack made of predominantly Anikiran wolves had a litter, but the celebration of new life was short-lived when only one of the three pups survived the first few weeks of life. That sole surviving pup, was Thor. The distraught alpha male did not know what to do and was easily convinced by one of the priests of the pack that their enemies had somehow caused the death of his pups… enraged that such a thing would be done, Odin called forth his mightiest warriors and led an attack on their enemies that night.
As the wolves ambushed the other pack and battles broke out everywhere, the sound of a pups squeal caught the attention of the grizzled and disgruntled old brute just as he took another warrior’s life. Astounded at the idea that a pup so young would be abandoned so soon, the old male found the young pup and saw that he was about the same age as his own son back home. The thought to take the young wolf’s life right then and there crossed his mind, but he could not bring himself to do it. He looked up at the chaos around them and noted how most of the warriors of their enemy had fallen, the rest of the pack had retreated and scattered. The next thought that crossed his mind was to leave the pup be and let time run it’s course, but he could not do that either… so instead, he picked up the tiny pup and carried him home as his pack’s warriors returned victoriously and presented him to his mate so that they could raise him as one of their own.
Thor grew up never knowing that Loki was not in fact his blood brother. The two were raised as warriors, they trained together and sparred together… their father pushed both of them harder than any of the other young pack members were trained because one day it would be one of them that would take his place and lead the pack. The brothers were pitted against each other in trial after trial, Thor holding an obvious advantage with his larger size… but the only reason Loki came out on top was due to his dirty tricks and pranks played on Thor as a means to get ahead and stay ahead. Thor knew what his brother did, he knew why he always seemed to fall short even for his own expectations, but he loved his brother too much to tell their father about what he was doing, and even though the brute did not fully believe that Loki was fit to rule, the fact that he tried so hard and did anything it took made the older male admire the younger one a little.
When the day came that their father was to announce his heir, Thor was uneasy. He was certain his father knew what happened, knew why it was that Loki kept winning, even in trials when the obvious winner should’ve been him. Yet, he still said nothing. The young male’s world shattered when Odin announced that he would be the one that took his place when he stepped down… and his brother attacked him. Thankfully it seemed their father had been expecting Loki to react like he did, one of the warriors of the pack quickly intervened and took Loki down, after which the old alpha banished him as punishment for attacking the new heir, his own brother. After Loki was gone, Thor’s parents told him the truth about Loki’s past and their reasoning for naming him the heir. It angered Thor that he would be placed above his brother simply because he was the only blood son of the alpha pair, if Loki had earned it he deserved to be named heir.
After an argument with his father, Thor stole away in the middle of the night to find his brother with intentions of bringing him home. He had planned to bring him home and demand they be put through the trials again and try to convince his brother to go through the trials fairly, without his dirty tricks… but he left too late and quickly lost his brother’s trail. He refuses to go home without Loki though, even after all the wolves were moved to the Southern Isles for a period of time, and therefore has been traveling Anikira in hopes of one day finding his dear brother.
Personality: Once an arrogant, self-centered, and irresponsible wolf, Thor has come a long way in his short life and often looks back at his younger self and thanks the Gods above for him maturing. Where he had once picked fights with anyone he could simply to gloat about his victory and boast his strength, he is now more patient and seeks to solve any issues he has with others in a calmer way before resorting to any sort of bloodshed. Now he focuses more on the long-term effects of his actions, such as fighting someone, instead of being impulsive and going through motions without putting any thought into what the outcomes of his actions would be in the long run. Thor is still a confident individual and has learned to keep it a quiet confidence that shows through the noble brute without him appearing as arrogant as he had once been. He’s become more selfless as the years have passed, thinking first of others around him, particularly those he holds dear to him, and then considering himself when he’s faced with different choices.
While typically he is a rather social creature and always enjoys the company of others, when the wolf experiences negative emotions he does prefer to be alone. Thor has learned that he is likely to lash out at others if they try to console him when he is feeling down or if they try to get him to talk when his anger has gotten to him. It is for this reason that he does not like being around others when he is in those states of mind, not for lack of wanting support… he just knows himself well enough to realize he would likely end up hurting someone and he would prefer to suffer in silence than risk hurting someone else in the process. When an obstacle or problem presents itself he does not try to run or hide from it, rather he faces it head on and does his best to overcome it. He has difficulty asking for help however, oftentimes even if an issue is too great for him to face by himself he will still try to do it. He is able to accept the help if it is offered though, especially if the help would not cause the individual offering it any sort of injury in the process. All in all, Thor is a well-rounded wolf with a few rough edges that just need a bit more work on them.
