Legacy [Hyperion/Joining]

[attr="class","pltxt"] Hyperion was not sure what it was that drew him from his home on Ina'mos. Perhaps it was worry about what had become of his sister. News had traveled fast enough that Vasilios had disbanded due to the lack of leadership and Hyperion was curious where Dione had gone. She loved her people almost as fiercely as he did so it made no sense for her to be absent. Even as he made the swim towards Acerbus he had noticed almost immediately the lack of pack scent coming from the border. His heart ached not knowing what had happened to Dione for even though she came across as cold at times he knew the real warmth inside of her. They had been close before she left and he had felt a responsibility to keep her safe after she left. Now that she was gone without a trace he felt like a failure. Most of his family had been gone and dead for a long time, but he had never expected to lose Dione this way.

As he roamed about it became more and more obvious that wolves had not been living here for the longest time. He also wondered what had become of his sister's children. If they were still out there in the world he wanted to make sure that they did not meet the same fate that his sister had. If she was in fact dead. He still held a glimmer in his heart that she would return to them someday with a grand story of what took her away for so long a time. A part of him wondered if he ought to send warriors to see Voriyle to see if he was the cause of his sister's disappearance. Since they hadn't parted on the best of terms. Still he did not want to be a warmonger if there was no real evidence of what had happened to his sister.

As he looked he became aware of an unfamiliar scent, a creature that he hadn't come across before. Curiosity got the best of him and before long he found himself standing before a pair of females. One a wolf and one a canid creature he had never seen. It was a strange beast, but then again he supposed a wolf might look odd to a creature of it's kind. When he looked closer at the wolf in front of him he almost choked. They both layed there slumbering as if about to sleep for the day, but the mask on the wolves face was too familiar for him to ignore. "Xena." She had been one of the first females to achieve power under his fathers rule. He had been so young when she was a part of Kairos but he doubted he could ever forget her striking appearance. Or the strength that she had held. He wondered if she had been alive all this time. When the pack changed from father to son in leadership many of the existing leadership had left. Kairos had been weak after transitioning to Typhon then back to Goliath. Many lost faith and left. Had Xena been gone all this time and only now come back to the pack she had sworn fealty to. Yet something about her did not seem entirely like Xena. Perhaps it was her scent or the fact that she kept company with this odd beast. He could not recall Xena ever keeping a pet, but he had been very wrapped up in himself when he was a youth.

Even if it wasn't Xena perhaps this stranger might have news of what happened here in Acerbus and know where Dione might be. Sitting back on his haunches he waited for her reply, whether she was asleep already or if his words had disturbed the pair.

Eve

[attr="class","pltxt"] Obviously this female could not be Xena but the resemblance was so striking that he could not get the image of the warrior out of his mind. This female was more youthful than Xena would be considering she was closer to the age of his mother. Still he couldn't shake it until the female admitted that she was Xena's granddaughter. That was believable since Xena had birthed two pups sired by the Ultoris pack for some alliance. Not that he really recalled the reason for binding themselves to such a pack. He barely remembered the pup swap that the two packs had done to further ties between them. Nowadays Hyperion didn't form ties with anyone but family, but even those relationships were becoming obsolete now. The majority of his family either lived within Kairos or were dead. Few enough were left now to form a pack let alone an alliance, but Kairos was strong enough to survive on their own.

Now that the shock had died down in his system he was able to compose himself to the point where he wasn't standing there staring. "Yes I knew Xena, she served as a warrior under Goliath when I was a pup. It's nice to meet you Eve and Solani." The female seemed as though she wanted to know more about her family history, asking about whether Hyperion knew Xena or not. Then she went on to express her desire to follow in her mother's footsteps. She wanted to be a warrior in a male-dominated pack, probably wanting to prove that she was strong enough just like her grandmother did. A smirk played across his lips when she mentioned the Emperor hoping that he would find her worthy. "That is tough to know. The Emperor is a tough bastard, he might need proof of your abilities." Obviously Hyperion would not deny her entrance into his pack for her blood held the legacy of Kairos just as much as his did. Whether she had the strength to be a warrior under his rule or not he would not deny her the chance to try. He understood the need to follow in the familial footsteps. "If you like I can take you to Ina'mos to meet him, Solari as well." It was more of a test to see if she could make the swim, considering it was a difficult journey. Her companion was welcome to join the trek as well, though Hyperion didn't know what he would do once they got to his isles. Not sure how to break the ruse he was weaving now that he had already misled her.

Eve

[attr="class","pltxt"] The female figured that if the Emperor was anything like Goliath he would be formidable. It almost made the male chuckle. "No he is not like his father. While they both led the pack well they each go in different directions." It was the truth that Goliath was a male of conquest forging a path that made Kairos one of the largest and most feared packs on the continent. Hyperion on the other hand led his pack with more focus on family and creating strong roots and bonds between the wolves of the pack. Hyperion was nowhere near as vicious or determined as Goliath would, though if provoked he would always protect his family if needed.

Eve was too sharp for his play and seemed to see through his attempts to hide his identity at least for a little while. Sometimes the male missed just being a simple warrior, the freedom to go where he pleased whenever he wanted. Instead he had a title that meant some of his interactions with others were less than genuine. Still he already liked Eve. She had the brains for sure, but that didn't mean that she would cut it as a warrior. "I usually don't get scolded for my manners unless it is by my mother. My name is Hyperion, it is nice to meet you Eve. The truth is the swim is meant to test the youth, but it is still a good test for wolves who wish to be a part of Kairos. Not everyone is strong enough to make the swim, youth or not. It isn't something to be taken lightly. Besides Ina'mos is where the Emperor spends the most of his time. If you want to get to him then you have to make your way there."

Hyperion was curious why exactly she wanted to be a part of Kairos, other than her family connection. If her prowess was anything like her grandmother than she would be a welcome addition to their pack. If not he was sure they could find another job for her to do within their ranks. It was up to her what capacity she wanted to stay in.

"Don't worry the Emperor is not far."
