Though she supposed she was smaller than she had been with her previous litter, she was certain that there were several pups within her belly this time around as well. But, at least this time she knew that they all belonged to Masyn. Just that thought alone pleased her and made her at least somewhat proud of herself, and perhaps that was the only reason she managed to force herself to her paws every morning to leave the caves for a drink and to eat whatever Masyn had left for her. He had been good to her lately, and thankfully it seemed his temper this time around had been well under control. He did not look at her with disgust as he had after she had been raped by the wolf that was no doubt the father of at least one of her previous offspring. But that was not the only thing she was thankful of. Erza had returned to them, and it seemed that she intended to stay this time. Though the rest of her previous litter had disappeared from her life, she was at least glad to have one of them occasionally at her side.
But she knew what Erza thought of her. Her daughter was disappointed in her, and though she understood the harsh words and hurt feelings of the young female, her words had stung anyways. But Lisanna could not hold that against her daughter. It was not her fault how she had come into the world. But Lisanna knew she would be forever grateful to Mara for sparing her daughter's life. Now she would be given siblings, and perhaps she could help Lisanna and Masyn protect them as Ravenis grew stronger and finally claimed the lands they had lived upon for quite some time. The dog groaned softly as she pushed herself up into a standing position, her legs trembling for a moment as she waited for the tingling to stop and for the feeling to return to them. Though she was slightly smaller than she had been during her last pregnancy, she was still quite large and her petite form was struggling to adapt. She was certain she would give birth any day, but that did not mean she could stop eating and drinking until then.
But that morning found her nauseous and feeling worse than pathetic, and she only managed to waddle over to the nearby freshwater stream to drink a little bit before she sat down and panted softly. Summer was close, and with their home now so far south it was warming much faster than she would have preferred. Still, it would be the perfect time for her to give birth to pups. They would be fed and protected without worrying about the rainy wet season or the dangers of winter. Though this far south they hardly experienced a tough winter. At least not since what she would have called a mini ice age if she knew the meaning of the term. Her brown eyes closed for a moment as she sighed and panted, her head spinning slightly as she sat beneath the sun and struggled to find the energy to stand and find shade. She would get up eventually, but at the moment she needed a short break.
