Life had been exhausting over the past several weeks. She had given birth to a litter of beautiful puppies, and they were growing faster than she could keep up with them. She was certain that they would all be larger than here once they were full grown, but she could only wait and see. With a soft yawn she lifted her head, carefully stretching as much as she could without knocking into any of the bundles of fur that surrounded her. She had gone to sleep in their little den the night before surrounded by her children, and she expected to wake up with them all present that morning. They were deep enough into the caverns to avoid the tide and the sun, so it was still dark when she pushed herself up onto her paws and carefully stepped around the sleeping pups so that she could exit the den alone.
Once she was certain she was not being followed, she made her way outside to relieve herself and get a drink of water before sitting down just outside the entrance to the caverns to enjoy the warmth of the sunlight. Her pups were old enough to leave the safety of the caves now, and she wondered how long it would take them to notice her absence. Her brown eyes scanned the surrounding terrain, hoping to catch a glimpse of their father as well. Masyn had taken good care of them, provided food while she nursed them, and now she hoped that he would be at her side to watch them take their first steps out into the light. There were perhaps not many things in her life that she could say she was truly proud of, but her offspring were definitely on the list.
Her thoughts moved to Erza, wondering where the young female had gotten off to. Would she be present to meet her siblings? She hoped she would at some point, and with any luck they would all become the big, happy family that Lisanna had always dreamed of. They were the future of Ravenis, and her stump of a tail wagged against the ground behind her as she barely contained the excitement that rose in her chest as she imagined what they would do that day. They likely would tire out before noon, but she wanted to at least give them an opportunity to explore the pack territory for a bit.
(Masyn, Striker, Delta, Whisky, Echo, Sinbad, Kimber, Erza and anyone else in Ravenis that would like to join the family ^.^)
